Tips on moving to Miami from Minnesota? -

I am currently in the process of moving from a very small town (pop. 1500) in northern Minnesota to Miami in January. Needless to say this will be a huge transition for me and I am way stressed about it. I am looking for tips on making the move a little easier. I am mostly concerned with two things : the climate change and cultural changes. Right now the current temp in northern Minn is -9 degrees. How can I make the climate change easier? Are there any special clothes i should buy? What is the normal temperature in Miami in Janurary? Also, any tips in general on moving from a tiny town to a major city like Miami? Thanks to all!

1) Throw away your winter clothes. The link will show you why:http://www.climate-zone.com/climate/unit 2) It will take some time for you to get used to the tropical climate of south Florida.

Get ready for intense sun. I live in the upper great lakes and decided to drive with the top down one day. Bad idea! sunburned arms! Wear lots of sunblock. Other than that, enjoy. The weather is warm and the flora is beautiful. Growing up with -20 and snowbanks you can t see over, I had no trouble adjusting!

it will be 80-90 in miami most of miami is just a series of small towns its not going to be that big a change, I love it there

How is the weather condition in ATLANTA amp; NEW YORK goin be lyk in April 2010 amp; ideas of some places to visit? -

Usually by April, the weather in Georgia has started to get nice and warm again. Hopefully it won t be too terribly humid just yet, as we ll still be coming out of winter, but it will definitely be warmer than most parts of the country. If you re coming to visit Atlanta, I highly recommend the High Museum of Art, Turner Field, the Coca-Cola Factory, maybe Six Flags and White Water! They re all fantastic places to visit and offer a variety of ideas no matter what you re in the mood for!

We generally visit NY in April during spring break. I always bring a winter coat -- and generally use it. It can be blustery. (Last April wasn t as cold .... but one never knows in advance; NY has had snowstorms in April.)Conversely, April is a terrific time to visit Atlanta. It s generally rather mild and pretty - though it could be rainy. ( April showers bring May flowers. )As far as things to do: if you ve never been to either city, follow the advice in tour guides with museums, attractions, etc. As a native New Yorker now living in Atlanta, I still enjoy going -- albeit infrequently -- to the same places tourists visit.

April in Atlanta is BEAUTIFUL. Average highs in the low 70 s, with lots of sunshine. The dogwoods will just be starting to shine. New York is really hit or miss in April. One day it will be 70 and sunny, the next will be flurries. Atlanta is the safer bet that time of year. If you have time in the summer, avoid Atlanta and hit NY or Chicago. Places to visit:Braves GameBrick Store Pub, and Sweetwater Brewery (if you like beer)Stone Mountain Park (worth going once)Lenox or Phipps Mall (if shopping is your thing)Centennial Olympic Park (still cool after 13 years)The High Museum of Art (Not sure if DaVinci will still be there, but always something good)The Fabulous Fox Theatre (Off Broadway stuff)Road Atlanta (AMA superbike races in early May)Check out creativeloafing.com before you fly in...always great concerts, festivals events

Do you know your own weather that far in advance? As far as the general climate during that time of year. Atlanta will be just starting to get hot, thunderstorms are common, but don t last all day. In New york, warm with chilly nights. Rain and cold fronts possible.

Is it possible tp visit the wisteria Lane (colonial Street in LA)? -

The wisteria Lane of Desperate Housewives is the colonial Street just next to the Universal Studios, is it possible for everybody to visit it?

Yes, it s actually in Universal Studios. The only way you can see it is when they drive by it on the Backlot Tour.

i visit it in a guided tour in universal studios but you must know that the houses is not real !!! it is only a large front made of wood,,,!!!!not real house ,,but when we was in the bus they make the music of despret houswife while circling in the street ,it was a strange nice feeling of being in the street

As far as I know there is a tour bus that takes you round all these places including Wysteria Lane. My girlfriend went to LA this year and went on the tour, the pictures looked awesome!!You might find this link interesting:http://www.thestudiotour.com/ush/backlot
