I am currently in the process of moving from a very small town (pop. 1500) in northern Minnesota to Miami in January. Needless to say this will be a huge transition for me and I am way stressed about it. I am looking for tips on making the move a little easier. I am mostly concerned with two things : the climate change and cultural changes. Right now the current temp in northern Minn is -9 degrees. How can I make the climate change easier? Are there any special clothes i should buy? What is the normal temperature in Miami in Janurary? Also, any tips in general on moving from a tiny town to a major city like Miami? Thanks to all!
1) Throw away your winter clothes. The link will show you why:http://www.climate-zone.com/climate/unit 2) It will take some time for you to get used to the tropical climate of south Florida.
Get ready for intense sun. I live in the upper great lakes and decided to drive with the top down one day. Bad idea! sunburned arms! Wear lots of sunblock. Other than that, enjoy. The weather is warm and the flora is beautiful. Growing up with -20 and snowbanks you can t see over, I had no trouble adjusting!
it will be 80-90 in miami most of miami is just a series of small towns its not going to be that big a change, I love it there
