I lived in Virginia Beach for 6 years. Yes it is nice there. During winter it also gets cold there but seldom snow,Except for block ice. There are lots of nice places to live there too, Just be careful because in the downtown area ( Norfolk ) which is a city near Virginia beach ,Houses there are a lot cheaper but also with high crime rate and gangs. House rent may differ depends on where you are and what your looking for. Probably $900 - above is a good start. Food prices are also a little bit high compared to some states. For example the price of milk is around $4.25. If you will live near the beach area, Apartments there are also a bit higher than other places. Since your single I can t say anything about nightlife, Though there are some places in Norfolk that is nice to hang out too. Lots of Malls, Walmart etc. Easy access to anywhere you wanna go. You ll see a mix of White,Black American and Asian people in Virginia Beach. Not sure about the employment rate. I heard some of the manufacturing companies there decided to stop there operation and closed. There are many manufacturing companies in Virginia Beach ( Virginia ) and other cities too. Most of the people I know works there. I hope I was able to help you. That s all and goodluck!
