They are both VERY big states. Please add a detail indicating from what city to what city. It makes a difference.

Trying to decide whether to move or not...? -

So, I am 18 years old. I will be graduating high school in May. I plan on going to some community college for a year or more. It has been kind of a dream of mine to move away. I live in a very small town in Missouri. My dream career would be a photographer. I was thinking of moving to somewhere like Seattle, Houston.. I don t know.. I guess those are my top two. Do you think it is a good idea?

That certainly is a dream career. If you are good, reliable, and a hard worker you can make money doing weddings . . . otherwise it is more of a side job or hobby.First you need to have some savings, 3 months worth of living expenses - minimum. Which means you need a budget to know what 3 months of living expenses are.Then research job market, community colleges, crime rates, whatever is important to you. Make sure you know more about the city you move to than the cool stuff you d see in a brochure. Then you need to know the dollar conversion. For example, in your small town you can probably rent a small apartment for $500 a month, and eat for under $100/month. In another city that exact same apartment could cost $1200 a month, and you could pay $250 a month for the same amount of food. It is NEVER a good idea to move out on your own so young without a good plan and the means to go ahead with that plan. Trust me - I did it. Many people I know did it. Their stories are all the same - having to work a low paying job just to make ends meet, getting over your head in credit problems, and just when they think they are ok to put their lives in order they fall into a family and can t afford the time for themselves to improve their lives.I know it s exciting to want to live on your own, but everyone you ask will tell you it s better to take the time you have now and work on your education and prepare for your future. Because once you step out on your own the odds of making a success of yoruself are very slim and can take a long time even with help.

Definatly! - a photographer needs a broad base of experiences and points of view - and you cant get those in a small town. I would advise getting into an on campus or even off campus dorm, so you don t have to worry about housing which is the biggest cause of stress and concern for 1st time college students. Roomamtes can make you want to quit college,but the dorm situation is best because if there are problems, the dorm will switch you to a more suitable living space.But yes, MOVE OUT! its awesome! and you can always visit during breaks and holidays. You;ll never regret it!

Since you are under 21, your best bet is to contact condo / cabin owners directly to see if they will rent to you. Very few hotels or motels will accept under 21 visitors.Rather than give you a specific property name and location, I would suggest that you do some research on the available houses/condos, the prices and the locations.
