Living in los angeles thinking about moving back home? -

I am 24 I live in los angeles, been here for almost three years. I own my own business and live off of it. I make enough to survive and thats about it. I had a job to supplement my income but, he is going out of business so he let me go. I am from ohio original. I like it there besides winter. I like my friends there too. It is way cheaper to live there . It is hard living in los angeles but I am in the music instrument repair business and it does well out here, enough for me to live and thats about it. I have not been able to get ahead yet. If I still had my part time job with consistent extra income I would be doing a lot better with my business by now. It is mostly a money thing if I had more I would be able to put it into the website and business. But I have to pay rent which is $700 and that is the cheapest I have found for rent on the westside un less u want to live in a crapy area. though most of my business is done thru the web people and customers can ship the kind of stuff I repair. I am working on my site getting ranked better which is what I am learning about now. My sister seems to think I should move back. But I am not sure. Miss my mom and sister...hard being far away but I always wanted to live here. I feel like I should wait a little longer and push with my business because it has got better over time here. I feel like it could do good here. I guess it could do good any where because of the internet. I guess it is just harder for me to get it going here because of living expenses. But a lot of my work right now comes locally. This is a big city and a lot of people here which is good for business. Ohio there is not as much going on. Im just trying to get ahead. I have been looking for a part time job.... I am weighing my options on what I should do. I know I don t want to just always be getting by out here and not getting ahead. It is a lovely place but if I can t get a head i don t think it is worth it. I am a smart person when it comes to my business. I also moved here because I wanted to look for musicians to form a band but all the people I have jammed with it did not work out, have tried a lot of musicians too. had a sweet band together in ohio but everybody was going into college and it kind of broke up which sucked, so now I a make solo music, which is awesome and fun. Any good advice.... thanks

dude u should move back home.even if ur business is doing ok but your not happy with your surroudnings, you should move back cuz if you live in a place you dont feel entirely happy, you would not be positive about anything.if home makes you happy and you miss your family, i suggest you discuss with your family first, and get some suggestions from them as well..im sorry to hear your band didnt work out but dont be too down by tat.. call up your family and discuss your current situation, hope for the best bro.

Looks like your choice is to move back and be miserable because of the winter weather and broke because there are no jobs in Ohio ORStay in LA and make barely enough to get by on but with the knowledge that in a couple years when the recession is over you will still be in LA, have as established business and will be doing quite well by then.Business will pick up when we come out of recession and in the mean time you are in the music capital of the world where you can pursue your dreams in the music business.Yes it is tough but being a small business operator is tough for the first 5 years. And once the recession is over, you will get ahead. Until then we are all doing what we can to survive. So chill out, things will bet better eventually. Just survive for now.I moved to LA in 2001 and I do not regret it at all, I design electronic equipment for the music industry and the business has its ups and downs.

HOW LONG WOULD YOU HAFT TO GO TO SCHOOL IN NYC TO BE A FASHION DESIGNER? -

THANKS:)

You don t haft to go to any school to be a fashion designer.

Fashion institute of technology is the best school in NYC for that, but in NY it is not what you know it s who you know. If you to school it can take between 2 to 5 years, If you know someone you do not even need school. My buddy became an interior designer in Manhattan with no schooling he just knew a rich woman did a job for her, and recommended him to her friend. Then they did the same. Now he is rich.

Well, THE fashion school in New York City is FIT (Fashion Institute of Technology, see link, below) and you d have to go just long enough to know that HAFT TO GO is not English, and that typing in all caps is lazy and rude.Good luck!
