Is is a good idea to tour from Boston down to FL in July? -

My band is currently planning on touring from Boston down to FL in July. Is this a good idea for this time of year. We don t mind the heat, but are there alot of people around in the summer in the southern states? I know MA is a great place to be in the summer, since it s warm, but not too warm. Also alot of people seem to come out to shows in the summer up here. Is this the case in the southern states?

I used to live in Georgia so we used to always go down to Florida, and ironically I live in Boston now. There s a big difference. Shows down South do better on the weekends (if you re taking that into account) since there s usually a ton going on during the week in Boston. I wouldn t really suggest July, because the weather is miserable...it s actually miserable most all the time to be honest. June to November is also prime time for hurricanes in Florida. I think March or May would be the best times to go, because you have spring break in March and then most schools graduate around the 21st of May. Jacksonville and Panama City are the main places people usually go.Hope this helped a little. Good luck!

New England is great in summer months - Florida is oppressing, you really can t be outside and comfortable.

Sure. It will be nice and warm, though there is a chance you could get hit by a hurricane or tropical storm.

I agree with the person above, but in the end Boston is the best choice.

In no particular order.Washington DC for the musem, mount vernon, Monitchello. Stay in a hotel at the end of the metro line and ride the metro. It is busier than it used to be. It takes three monthes to get a reservation to see the white house. On a slow day you can still get in to see the Decloration of Independence, the capital building, and the washington mounument. But you better make reservations for these, two monthes in advance for the monument. We took a tour trolley/bus with on and off privlages for the first two days. Then we got lost in the musems. Also Colonial Williamsburg in two hour away.New Orleans, for the street life in the french quarter. We stayed in a hotel that turned out to be the house of the rising sun, in the song. We had french pasties for breakfast accross the street. Walked to Jackson square. Took a bus tour showing the katrina flooding. Rode the street car.Orlando-Disney world.Salt lake City, the morman tabernacle, carriage rides around the downtown. The mountains are a half hour away.Chicago, the sears tower, their is also a resturant in the John Hancock Tower. Boat rides on the lake. The Art institute. the water front. The subway now runs out to ohair. Grab a airport hotel and ride the subway into downtown. Lake Michigan is serounded by beaches. A day north is Mackinaw Island, fudge, carriage rides, no cars.St Louis has the arch, a great zoo, and a nice art musem. Philidelpia has indepedence Hall.Boston has the US constitution, a 1790 frigate. Concord, the old north church, Minneapolis during the summer aqutenial, or St Paul during the winter carnival.

my top 5-dallasdcorlandonew orleansphoenixi live near nyc, but to me, its not that great. they are just asswholes who think they are great and the sh*t when they are clearly not. its usually with news people though. plus, i can imagine its like you and melbourne. being near it/ in it too long looses its sheen!

Outside of Chicago and NYC, the top five are:1) Boston2) Washington DC3) Philadelphia4) LA5) San FranciscoThe thing about Las Vegas is that it is fun, but it is also overrated.

Washington, DC for sure and it also depends on what you are interested in seeing and how much time/money you have. The United States is huge. With the list that you have a lot of flying to do!I would stay out of Detroit, murder capitol of the US

I am from California and am planning to go to Australia to study abroad! :)Anyways, here s my Top 5:Los Angeles, CANew York, NYOrlando, FLNew Orleans, LASan Antonio, TX
