Is is a good idea to tour from Boston down to FL in July? -

My band is currently planning on touring from Boston down to FL in July. Is this a good idea for this time of year. We don t mind the heat, but are there alot of people around in the summer in the southern states? I know MA is a great place to be in the summer, since it s warm, but not too warm. Also alot of people seem to come out to shows in the summer up here. Is this the case in the southern states?

I used to live in Georgia so we used to always go down to Florida, and ironically I live in Boston now. There s a big difference. Shows down South do better on the weekends (if you re taking that into account) since there s usually a ton going on during the week in Boston. I wouldn t really suggest July, because the weather is miserable...it s actually miserable most all the time to be honest. June to November is also prime time for hurricanes in Florida. I think March or May would be the best times to go, because you have spring break in March and then most schools graduate around the 21st of May. Jacksonville and Panama City are the main places people usually go.Hope this helped a little. Good luck!

New England is great in summer months - Florida is oppressing, you really can t be outside and comfortable.

Sure. It will be nice and warm, though there is a chance you could get hit by a hurricane or tropical storm.

I agree with the person above, but in the end Boston is the best choice.
