I m from Pennsylvania, no matter where you live you re about 2 1/2 hours from either NYC, Philadelphia, or Pittsburgh. Budget to go to NYC during Spring Break? -

So...me and a friend (we re seniors in college) we want to go to NYC for Spring Break. YIKES. So, just by doing a little research, I ve noticed it s going to take ALOT of money just to get the plane tickets and cover the hotel...lol Now, I have a bit of money due to an accident I was in last year, so, technically I can afford it. However, I d still like to know if there are ANY possible ways to make it less expensive?-Any good discount travel sites?-What are the cheapest hotels?-How much money should we generally bring?HELP? lol General advice would be good. I m moving to North Carolina to Texas.

Texas area is much larger. We have several different types areas from sandy to forest to ocean side. We have small farm towns and several large cities. So it would depend where your moving to. In Fort Worth we have wide variety of resterants and entertainment. I feel we would have more days warmer then there. But we are in a cool spell at this time this week. Night low 50s. Obvious differences are climate and accents. Large cities here are more built up and have more traffic congestion. We also have more shopping, resteraunts, and Universities.

I can give you some names, but the truth is there are lots and lots of places. Start looking anywhere within 100 miles of the Canadian border. Then, look for small towns (less than 10,000 people) that are at least 100 miles from any city of that size or larger. Those places will very likely be very conservative and Christian.

Try Utah, tons of snow there in the cold season, and plenty of christians, mostly latter day saints.

I ve stayed at the Venetian twice and I don t know what you might be talking about. The Venetian is modeled after Venice, Italy.What do you mean by on the inside it has all the countries ... a map? I don t know of any hotel on the strip like that.Venetian is based on Venice, Caesars is based on ancient Rome, and Bellagio is more modern Italian. Paris is clearly a French/Parisian theme, NYNY is based on New York City, and Luxor has an Egyptian theme. Those are the ones with clear country themes.

Last years NYE fireworks sucked big time on the strip. Are they going to change them this year back to where you can actually see them rather than just hear them?

Just announced that the fireworks are returning to the top of the hotels along the strip this year. Last year was a disaster as they shot them from behind the hotels at street level and no one could see them. The fire department has made it a law after the fire at Monte Carlo the previous year. This year the fire department relented and now the 300,000 NYE parties along the strip will enjoy the over $500,000 spectacular fireworks show.
