Question about public transportation in Maryland? -
Texans i need your help!? -
If you want to live in a big city I recommend Houston,Dallas, and San Antonio. I believe San Antonio has the best nightlife and food. Austin is a nice city. Its big but not too big. There is almost 1 million people and downtown is really fun. There is almost always a concert going on.If you like the beach Corpus Christi and Padre are really fun. Lots of tourists though.
Avoid Dallas/Ft Worth, though some of the smaller cities smushed up in that mess are nice enough. As for bigger cities, Austin and San Antonio are both really great cities. Waco is pretty nice as well, though it gets overrun every now and then because of football.I ve heard great things about Amarillo, but haven t been there personally.
If you want to live in a somewhat large city but still have suburbia feel Cedar Park is really nice I lived there for 18 years and my parents still live there. Its close enough to Austin to pretty much be Austin. There are all sorts of lakes and things around. It has pretty good schools and a range of income levels. If you have more questions you can email me.
I live in the Dallas/Ft Worth area, which like LA, encompasses several smaller cities. We live in the Flower Mound area..great schools, affordable housing, low crime rate and growing! I would totally avoid the city of Dallas and Ft. Worth all together and look at the burbs. Come on down!!!
i would recommend san antonio, it s a good mix all around really. It has all the convenience of a big city, with the attitudes of a small one.
Does liliu have a meaning? -
Liliu was a name given to the queen at birth. Liliuokalani is a name that her brother Kalakaua pretty much gave her when he was king. It basically means Liliu of the Heavens , or Liliu the Royal One . The princess herself said Liluokalani was no name at all. Her friends and American husband, I gather, usually called her Lydia. Kinau, half-sister of King Kamehameha III was given the privilege of naming the new baby of chiefly rank, since a granddaughter of Kamehameha I would be raising the new baby as a hanai (adopted) daughter. This was done for political reasons among the ali i. Anyway, Kinau had an eye infection or irritation of some sort that had been going on for days, and nothing seemed to be working. Names were given in accordance to important things going on, so Kinau named the new baby Liliu (smarting) Loloku (tearful) Walania (burning pain) Kamakaeha (the sore eye). So you could say that Liliu means smarting or irritated.
