I hate to rain on your parade but my recommendation is that you NOT move to California...at least not for another 10 years. This state is more and more messed up each year that the actor is at the helm. The economy is this state is absolutely devastated and I don t see that improving until at least 2015-2020. More and more businesses that a recent graduate would want to work for are moving out of the state because of the state economy and slow to recover housing market. Do yourself a favor and move to Seattle, WA or Arlington, VA. The job and housing markets are much more robust in those cities than anywhere in California right now.
what part of the beach and why? thats important info. i suggest moving near the bay area. vallejo is a good choice, its about half way between sacramento and san fransisco (about an hour from both), and its not to huge. its got all the conveniences of a goodsized city, but the affordability of a smaller town. it has nice housing and a location that gives you easy access to two way bigger cities for the bigger conveniences. that location also allows you to WORK in either of those two cities, doubling your local work opportunities. the bay area is clean, and cooler than the rest of california (70s and 80s year round isntead of 80s and 90s year round).
Well, Southern California is out. Over crowded and worn out. Look for something in mid California or Northern California. It is a long state and most people have traditionally gone for the southern part of it leaving the the middle and northern parts rather un-exploited.I like the San Francisco area, but not in the city....something in one of the towns around San Fran.
None. California s unemployment is higher than the rest of the country. Taxes are very high and so is the cost of living. If you do not have a job in hand, then do not move out here.
Long Beach because its made of win :]
