Car or Suv rental from NY to Florida in the snow? -

I want to rent a car or suv from NY to Florida during December. Not sure about using a car up north because the cars don t have snow tires, as for Suv AWD I don t mind but now snow tires on those either, I don t think they can give you snow tires right? I would like to rent a car because it s cheaper, and they usually sometimes clear the highways, and I m only driving through snow until I get to I guess North Carolina?

There s no guarantee that there would even be snow in December. And if you plan on driving down I-95, there is no need for snow tires or AWD. Just get a car, you ll have to stop less to fuel up.

Hi. I get the impression you haven t spent much time in New York. It doesn t usually snow much in downstate NY in December, and when it does we have these things called snow plows that remove the snow from the road. Particularly on major highways, any car in reasonable shape will be fine. If you were planning to drive around on dirt roads in the Adirondacks I d suggest something with all-wheel drive, but not to drive down I-95.Also, although it is common to rent a car at one place in Florida and give it back somewhere else, that s not common elsewhere, and you will pay a large surcharge to return it in Florida. Hertz, for example, will charge about $600 for three days or $700 for a week for a car from NY to Miami.Since you can often find plane tickets from NY to Miami for $99, why would you want to drive?

definetly get an SUV if you plan on driving through the snow!!

Visiting the Florida Keys in January, February, March? -

If you need a visa to go to the USA from your home country, then you will still need one to go there from the UK.

Giving out socks for the homeless in San Francisco..? What part of Sf? Good idea or not ? -

We have about 80 pairs of socks, and since it s almost christmas, a few teenagers from church are going around San Francisco handing out free socks with food and a candycane for homeless people in San Francisco. Is this a good idea?Christmas= giving, and sharing the love :)BUT WHERE SHOULD WE GO ?What streets? Thank youu !

haght st, (upper) tenderloin, 6th st. Downtown... Main plaves, my reccomendation would be to travel in a group though because some of the places are extremley dangerousand your teenage lovw giving could be robbed @ gunpoint of all its socks and have them be sold for crack. Be careful and happy holidays.

Ellis street where club suite 181 is at, it s also neart a police station.

Better to ask the local Police.

That s not a good idea, they d go crazy on you. Just don t go to the Tenderloin

New in california need apartment for rent ? -

hi , i just arrived to the US in california , i want to find apartment for rent , i preffer to be with roomate cuz i hate to live alone ,how can i find apartmentsor homes ? is there offices specialized for that or just search the internet ? plz help

Check the Newspaper classified ads.Check around all newstands as they sometimes have small newspapers with listings too.Im sure there are brokers too, but they probably get a fee.Find the area you d like to live in and look for RENT signs. Living alone usually isnt do-able anyway, rents are so high in CA.They have ridiculously high property taxes, is one reason. Its best to find a place close to work, yet still somewhat safe, so your drive to work is reasonable. If you dont have a job yet, it could be a long time til you find one, due to all the unemployment..so dont go too overboard with your apt costs.

www.craigslist.orgJust don t rent from someone without seeing them in person.

Romantic spots in Austin Texas? -

I was wondering if there are any special spots that overlook the city skyline or maybe lake Travis. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

The most famous romantic spot is Mount Bonnell:http://www.austinexplorer.com/Locations/Another nice spot is along the shores of Lady Bird Lake (formerly Town Lake) around Auditorium Shores or Zilker Park. There are some nice city views as well as the view of the Colorado River. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lady_Bird_LThe Pennybacker Bridge, also known as the Loop 360 bridge has a trail just north of the bridge where you can climb up and look down at the river and the bridge.http://www.austincityguide.com/content/3
