Where in Seattle can I go to see a Christmas light neighborhood? -

I live in North Seattle (Mill Creek) and don t mind driving a little. I am looking for a place to drive through and see Christmas light neighborhoods. Thank you so much!

I know this isn t the same day you posted the question but in case you are still looking for somewhere to see lights ...I don t know if they do this every year or not but there was a Christmas lights display in Silver Firs (Everett area) a couple of years ago. I didn t see it but heard about it and supposedly it was amazing Perhaps if it s an annual thing you could check it out since you are close to Everett.Otherwise, if you are willing to venture to Seattle, here is a link I found that might be of help:http://seattle.about.com/od/mapstranspor

Candycane Lane! It is located in the Ravenna neighborhood actually it is very close the University District near U Village. Free, I like to park and actually walk the neighborhood with some hot cocoa.I would also suggest looking up the Christmas Ships schedule and looking at the lights and hear some singing too. Fun experience.

Go to www.komonews.com and look at the weather section for Steve s Parade of Lights . Steve Pool, who is the weather guy, always solicits folks to send in addresses and photos of great light displays in neighborhoods all around the region so you can search that to find some that are close to you.

Most all neighborhoods with big enough houses have lights :DI usually drive around as well.

I want to move to south carolina how is it there? -

I live in Laconia NH,and I m tired of the winters here.I want to be someplce warm, but I don t know anybody down there, and I would miss my family and friends so much there.I m stuck tween a rock and a hard place here!If I stay here one more winter,I m gonna go insane, but if I leave,I ll go nuts over missing my friends and family so much.I know sometimes they get snow down there, but I don t think it sticks around! I hate cold and snow. What should I do???

The people from South K, as the locals call it are straight up but the most racist people I have ever met, both black and white. I am from Ohio and have lived in Georgia for 22 years so I am known as a damn yankee that I can never shed. I snows in South K as well as Georgia and it has even snowed at Key West, Florida. The grass looks greener on the other side of the fence but it is the same grass.

Why don t you go on a week vacation in Charleston, S.C. and see how it feels, what is there, and more. My cousin lives there and said that it is a busy place. My friend lives in Sumter, S.C. and said to me there s no Starbucks! LOL She is living there for a year due to work so... that s pretty much it. :)

Taxi availability in Manhattan at late night? -

Hi there, forgive the possibly stupid question, but I just want to be sure about this :)I ll get to New York for a day in february, and will be visiting Manhattan as my connection flight leaves 12 hours later. I have to be back at JFK Airport at 5 AM, and was thinking to get a taxi from Manhattan to the ariport at around 2-3 AM. Is it easy to get a taxi at that time in Manhattan or should I get a taxi company number just-in-case? I know by day Manhattan is literally flooded with taxis, but I really have no guess if there s many at night as well. (If it makes any difference, it ll be a saturday). Thanks for any help.

Cabs are available on the avenues in downtown and midtown Manhattan at all hours of the day and night. You may not be able to hail one on a side street in the middle of the night, but just walk to an avenue intersection and you ll be fine within a few minutes, particularly on a weekend night. Calling a car service would be far more expensive. It s not as easy to hail a cab in northern Manhattan (Harlem and above) or in the outer boroughs.Incidentally, at an hour when there s little traffic, you don t need to allow that many hours for getting to the airport! unless you want to spend the wee hours at JFK rather than in Manhattan -- that s certainly your call.

There are plenty of cabs on the street at that time. You can look an basically any avenue or major crosstown street and I am sure that yiou will be on your way to the airport in less than five minutes.Couple of throngs about cabs...They have to take you where you want to go. The fare will be on the meter and that is for the car, not per person. You will pay any tolls, like if you want to save a couple of minutes and go through the tunnel or RFK bridge. I have heard of drivers trying to extract double the fare, but that does not apply here. The fare will be around $40 or $50, plus tip. Another $8-$10 would be nice.

Wheres the best place to live in new jersy if you dont want to get affected by a hurricane? -

please help

Move inland. The coast usually gets battered (like it did this past week) but inland areas will only get moderate rain/wind.

Anywhere inland, away from the coast. We re protected on all sides from hurricanes by mountains in Virginia, New York and Pennsylvania that break them up before they get to us and I ve never seen one in 30 years of living here.

Should i go to disney? -

i was suppose to go with this one guy... but he broke his phone n i dont want to bother his friends.... n he hasnt called me..... should i go if he calls....?????

ahhh to be a teenager again.. them were the days... have you tried to call this guy on his landline, or because of his selfishness he just happened not to give it to you?

It s part of growing up. You now have a choice to make. It belongs to no one else but you. After you make your choice notify your friends so you are covered and not really alone out there. Also, BOTHER HIS FRIENDS! If they put you through then his phone was really broken. If not he dumped you.

That is entirely up to you...my questions would be about the transportation and all other costs and considerations of going to D land...be sure you have a backup way to get home in case this guy decides to leave you there ( it does happen )

Wouldn t hurt to bother his friends.

What is the most direct route, on foot, from San Ysidro, CA to Macias, Maine and what is the exact mileage? -

Nobody can give you an answer to that because there are simply too many variables in your problemA route that you can legally and safely walk down is very different than a route that you can legally and safely drive down so you immediately have to toss out any answers that people got from mapquest et al.My best guess would be that you can probably double the distance that you would get from mapquest et al

3327 Miles. It would take you 48 hours of driving to do it. I have no idea how long it would take to walk it. A lot of this is covered by route 40

Based on 3327 miles. as said before. The average walking speed of 5 mph. would be about 665 hrs. approximate days would be 27- 28 days.

Is Atlanta overrated? -

It depends on what you re talking about.Tis Good:Nature - you ve got trees for miles (where they haven t overdeveloped) and you can t beat the view of the city from Stone Mountain or Kennesaw MountainEntertainment - though the big venues tend to be overpriced, you ve got a variety of entertainment to pick fromTis Fair:Job Market - depends on who you talk to - half my peeps are employed; half are not. I haven t been out of work for the past 5 years, and last year, I made more money than I ve ever made in my life (with a start up internet company at that) and even sold some of my paintings for the first time. And the me from 5 years before that was struggling financially. The Weather - I ll take winters here than in the Northeast, but for the summers? ugh! waaay too hot, and I ve been here for 30 years.Tis Bad:Clubbing/social scene = loads o pretenders flashing clothes, jewelry and cars they can t affordPolitical environment = no progressive dialogue between the partiesSocioeconomic = plenty of segregation and elitism abounds, between blacks and whites and within each group (I m not as familiar with Asian, Latino, and other communities)Tis Really Bad:I wish I could go ONE day without seeing a confederate flag or bumper sticker on somebody s truck

Depends on what you are rating it on.Atlanta has all the issues any large city has. High crime, corrupt politicians and teerrible traffic. It also has all of the advantages any large city has including job opportunity, nice housing, entertainment, sports and cultural events. Living in the city of Atlanta sux. Living near Atlanta is great.

Excuuuuse me, I m from New York. As far as we re concerned, everything else is overrated. :-)I can tell you that in New York Atlanta is losing friends. People used to have many good words to say about Atlanta. But that standing stopped a few years ago. Nowadays Atlanta is not high on many New Yorkers lists.Sorry, that s the way it is.

I like the answer from the person from NYC. Too funny. but yeah, Atlanta is way overrated. I have lived here for 31 years and STILL cannot figure out why people come here on vacations. Summers are brutally hot, concerts are way overpriced, hotels are just ridiculous, as well as parking prices downtown and around the outskirts. Its no better or worse than any other big city - which is why I live in E. Cobb, Marietta. nice and quiet out here. :)

well i think nyc overrated people paying $10,000 + for a 1 bedroom apartment while down here thats a mansion!

It s not as overrated as Los Angeles.

See Is New York overrated?
