Public transportation from daytona to orlando? -

is there any? (florida)

No... there is not public transportation from Daytona to Orlando. You can hire a taxi or as the other person mentioned Dots but they will be expensive. These are private transportation services not public.Central Florida has horrible public transportation , if you are a visitor you will need to rent a car to get around.

Yes there is. Daytona Orlando Shuttle.http://doshuttle.com/DOTS has 22 buses a day between Orlando and Daytona.http://www.dots-daytonabeach.com/index.hIMHO, I d rent a car tho. Good luck.

You can take a private limo service or the Greyhound bus. No public transportation No problem getting to Orlando from the airport, tho.

NYC Trip in December..need advice quick!!? -

I live in North Carolina and myself and 3 other people are planning to go to NYC this month for Jingle Ball at Madison Square Garden. I m nervous and I need help with my options and I need a couple of questions answered. If I were to book a hotel in the city near MSG, how difficult would it be to get transportation to and from the airport when I arrive and depart? And also, If I were to save money and book a hotel near the airport, how difficult would it be to get to and from the city in a timely manner? Obviously, I m very confused. Any advice is appreciated!! :)

I m sure someone will give you a much better answer than this, but Manhattan is pretty smal if that s where you re staying and taking the subway is the best way to get around. There are stations everywhere. Buses are everywhere and there are free shuttle buses too which are good for getting around in small areas like downtown. Buy a monthly pass for the subway. Costs 94.50 or sumthing like that. You can use it a smany times as you want. Taxis are EVERYWHERE and they re super expensive too. 6 dollars to get you somewhere you can reach in 2 minutes by train. I hate taxis :( Have a nice trip though. I hope you enjoy yourself.

If you want to save money stay near the airport, because Manhattan will be out of you price range. There are several hotel near both LaGuardia and JFK, as well as Newark-Liberty Airport in New Jersey. If you re staying near Newark or JFK, the trip will be very easy. If you re in Newark, NJ Transit will get you to city is about 30 minutes each way. If you near JFK, you can either take the subway or the Long Island Railroad, which will get you to MSG in about 20 to 45 minutes each way.You can also staying in Jersey City, NJ and take the PATH train into the City, the trip take between 10 to 20 minutes each way.If you re staying near LGA, you will need to take a bus to the nearest subway station and then take the subway to the Garden. The trip can take any where from 45 to 60 minutes each way.If you need something a little closer to Manhattan, may I recommend booking a hotel in Long Island City, Queens. The trip from LIC to MSG by subway will take about 15 minutes.Depending on your budget, may I recommend the links below.Good luckNative New Yorker

Does anyone swim in Sam Rayburn Lake? -

After seeing those pics of huge alligator gar caught on the lake, I would be iffy from even sticking my toes in the lake for a second.

Of course they do. Gars do NOT eat people. They re a pretty passive breed of fish.

Whats it like in Boerum Hill? -

from your personal observation

Boerum Hill is a nice, small neighborhood. The housing is very nice - federalist style row houses mostly. There is a housing project nearby, but it s not a problem. I lived their over 20 years ago, when things were sketchier. But I go there fairly often now and it s really a nice neighborhood today, especially since Smith Street has become such a restaurant row! There are not a lot of places to buy food. There is one really crummy supermarket on Smith and then there s a Trader Vic s on Court and Atlantic - which is not really reliable for actual grocery shopping but is fun for certain kinds of things. Boerum Hill is very small in area, and there are two other very small neighborhoods right near there called Cobble Hill and Carroll Gardens. These three neighborhoods are somewhat similar, since they share either Court Street and/or Smith Street and/or Atlantic Avenue as main drags (each neighborhood shares two of those streets, but only not all three.) Since these neighborhoods are so similar and so small, some people refer to them collectively as BoCaCa. It s an acronym standing for the first two letters of each neighborhood s name. Also, all three neighborhoods are easily reachable by the F line to either Bergen Street or Carroll Street. You can also take any train that goes to Borough Hall station and walk (that would be the R, 2, or 4 trains.)What else do you want to know about the neighborhood?

It s a great neighborhood. I used to live there. Smith Street is a very busy strip of restaurants (some of them really good), bars, and clothing stores (that mostly cater to twentysomethings). The residential blocks are pretty and quiet, lots of families in addition to yuppie singles. As LJ said, there are many Federalist brick row houses, but also some brownstone blocks and some newer buildings, and a few apartments over the stores on Smith. Subway access is good, and it s very close to Manhattan. The biggest downside for me was the high cost of housing -- we eventually left in order to get more space for the same price elsewhere. As with any New York neighborhood, if you are considering living in BH, make sure the place is REALLY in Boerum Hill! [not in Gowanus or another surrounding area that might be less desirable]

What state do you live in? -

What state do you live in?what s it like what are some pros and cons of the state?what is the state known for and whats really popular there?by the way I live in Florida which is known for its Sunshine,Orange Groves,Walt Disney world, and wonderful beaches.

North Carolina, the Tarheel state...Con: once you move to NC, you never leave it. Also, I live on the coast, and the weather is insane. Hurricanes, then the humidity, and then never ending rain, and when it isn t raining... it s really hot or really cold. Global warming? Na.Pro: It s really diverse here, people-wise and geographically. When you go into the big cities like Charlotte, Raleigh, and Greensboro it s like a whole other world, compared to the boonies like Richlands, or the mountains, like Asheville. And we have an influx of people from all over, and a lot of guys, if that s your thing (cough, Onslow County/Jacksonville area, cough). We ve got plenty plenty of quantity (over quality? just kidding :-D).Basically, if you go exploring, you really can t ever get bored with NC--we ve just go so much history and our economy isn t even that bad! At least in Jacksonville, where all the marines are. Oh, and our colleges are awesome. UNC, NC State, Duke, Wake Forest, you got it!

Arizonapros- no cold weather or natural disasters like hurricanes or tornadoscons- summer is extremely hot 120 degreesknown for- large Mexican population, Grand Canyon, Red Rock Mountains, scorpians, cactus, old Western moviesI ve been here 2 years and I hate it. I hope to move back to my home in Massachusetts.pros- historic state, awesome sports teamscons- snow, democratsknown for- Boston (Boston tea party, Paul Revere), the Kennedys, Harvard, accents without the letter R, Cape Cod seafood

California.Stereotypes: Celebrities, beach bums, earthquakes all the time, fires all the time, a war zone (ghetto), this place where so many rich people live, this place where everybody has plastic surgery.Known for: Beaches, sunshine, Hollywood, Disneyland, San Francisco, wine, Yosemite.

I live in Texas(san antonio), its always hot/humid its one of the longest states, texas is know for cowboys( Ive never met one) ranches, rodeos, fiesta, fiesta texas and the alamo.

Illinois...Chicago, corn, crappy weather (cold snowy winters, hot humid summers), soybeans, Abe Lincoln, and Obama

Washington. Beautiful state but the pay rates are terrible and work is hard to find. But it is worth it to me to live here.

What is Phoenix Arizona like for a teenager? -

My dad just informed me that I m going to Phoenix today. I have to leave all my friends and my school. Make a fresh start. What are teenagers like down there? I m 16.

I have lived in AZ my whole life. I just graduated HS and I would say that the people are not that different than those from other states. There is a wide variety of people, just be true to yourself and connect with people similar to yourself. Don t be be swayed by others. Overall, I think it is a good place to live. I have learned a lot and have some great memories. Don t forget things will take time though. Just keep a positive attitude and everything will fall into place.

I have been to AZ quite a few times in the million years I ve been on this planet.Teenagers there are pretty much like teenagers everywhere else. But keep in mind that everyone is different. Chances are, you ll find someone you ll get along with. And, chances are, you ll find someone you don t.There are stereotypical groups, as there are anywhere. The high Mexican population constitutes the presence of Cholos and Cholas , or people who think they are. These are like, gangsters, sorta? Just be watchful. Don t say or do anything to upset a person. Mind your own business and keep to yourself. Ignore crude students as often as possible. Don t draw so much attention to yourself! These are just ways to ensure your safety. I would suggest you use them for that purpose. Good luck at your new school! Keep in touch with your old friends, too. :]

You mean Phx or the metro area? It s 9,000 sq miles, so its really big. There s 35 towns around it. But there s alot to do, nothing less or more than other places though. You will get used to it. You may notice that it s newer looking

I think in Phoenix it was very cool. LOTS of thinks to do after school.

Umm, it sucks? During most of the year it s hot. Then there is about 1 month of extreme cold. That s pretty much it (:

Should a tourist from California rent a car while visiting NYC.? -

I will be in NYC to take in some sights and have a good time. Should I just ride the subway or use a car service or rent a car? I plan on visiting Brooklyn, Bronx, Manhattan, Time Square, Statue of Liberty and maybe Atlantic City New Jersey among other places.

No way! It costs a fortune to park a car in the city - if you can find a garage with space. Use the subway and bus system. Get a guidebook that has the maps or go to the transit authority website and familiarize yourself with the various lines before you go. For Atlantic City you d need to get a bus, probably at the Port Authority. Save yourself some time on the Statue of Liberty and just take the [free] Staten Island Ferry that sails near it. It s a time-consuming trip to go to the statue itself and you ll need tickets in advance.

If you rent a car you wont be able to park anywhere in Manhattan unless you use a garage. You will find it difficult keeping up with the cab drivers, they are pretty sharp drivers, and the one way streets and no available street parking will make you crazy. If you drive around to look and sight see you can get a good lay of the land outside Manhattan and parking wont be such a problem. I live in the bay area and lived in New York city years ago.I suggest car rental only for sightseeing to Long Island and New Jersey just for a day or so. Car rentals are very expensive in Manhattan.

You re kidding right? My friend, this is NYC not Cali, a car is not need here. You can get anywhere are the city by public transit. Now, if you re going to AC, you can either take the bus from Port Authority Bus Terminal or a weekend express train service from Penn Station. You can also drive down to AC from NYC.Good luck

HELL NO!! Subway is the best!! NYV driver are so aggresive and scary... We are from San Francisco and didn t drive until the last few days, because we needed to go to Washington, getting out of the city was so scary! If you have too, rent the car from the airport and make sure you have lots of quaters ( at least $5-7) for the road tolls.. Yes, you think San francisco is expensive for parking?? NYC is crazy, you have to be rich to park at the parking lot- $8 per 20 mins.. (Street parking is hard to find.)You have to go to ALantic City, it s so cool.. Lots of shopping and casino- we won money there.. There are Bus that goes to Atlantic city from NYC Chinatown or Downtown area for about $20-40.We just got back from NYC about 3 months ago and I m definitely going back! We were there for 3 days, but I think 5 days should be enough. Get the 3+ day NewYorkPass, it will save you a lot of money! http://www.newyorkpass.com/ Also, buy your NYC T-shirt ( 5 for 10.99) at Times SQ.Around Empire State building, they have a lot of cheap NYc sounviers. Hotel wise, book early. We stayed in Chinatown (Hotel 91) but it s clean and fairly cheap- though you can heard the subway at night, it didn;t bother us. Becareful of big and cheap hotel, I heard it s not clean,, The last thing you want is to bring home some bed bugs.Broadway Show: If Wicked was too expensive ( it was for us), so we went to see Fuerza Bruta , we got a coupon online and pay half price =) so check online! .. Let put it this way, we will never forget this show.. we had a blast!http://www.broadwaybox.com/ ? for cheap shows! Ps. We finally watched Wicked In San Francisco, it was great!

No. Use the subway. Parking in NYC is a nightmare...and SUPER expensive. The trains are inexpensive and convenient to 99% of the sights. Also consider taking the Mega bus or Bolt Bus. They have great fares from NYC.

Don t even think of renting a car, as parking is very hard to find and expensive. Use the subway or take taxis. New York is also very walkable, as it s not particularly hilly.

No. I cannot imagine a bigger waste of money. We actually WALK to places here in NYC. If it s over a mile Subway, bus or taxi.

where would you park it? just use public transportation.

Is Washington a nice state to live in? -

Details would help as well. Also, is there much integration with different races and people? I m from the Raleigh so I m just looking around for now. Also, I heard many Washingtonians and Oregonians move back and fourth into the different states. Just asking though.

yeah its nice because its has four seasons.

Have you been to Marco Island, FL in December or live there? -

I m wondering what to expect as far as temperatures? I ve looked it up on temperature charts so I don t need a quote from that because I don t find that it s very accurate. If you live there or vacation there in December I d like to know what to reasonably expect. Thanks.

This year is a bizarre year for temperatures. Truthfully, Florida s winter s fluctuate so often, it s really hard to tell you. It could be 80 degrees one day, followed by a cold front that brings in the 50s/60s the next day. This year, we haven t cooled down yet. At least, not like we usually do by November. I have a feeling this will be a warm winter. Although last year, we had one of our coldest winters. I suggest bringing a sweater and some pants, just in case, but also bring some shorts and flip flops. For the most part, our coldest weather doesn t come till January. And even at that, our highs don t often fall below 55. Night can get chilly. South Florida high usually doesn t fall below the 60s.

Is there any cheap overnight parking near the Ritz Carlton - Marina Del Ray? -

Honestly, no. I used to live in the Marina. There s no parking on Admiralty but there is a pay lot about a block away which isn t exactly cheap. None of the Way streets like Tahiti Way, etc. has parking except permitted parking for the people who live there. If you re staying at the Ritz, you re really better off just paying the extra money and parking at the hotel itself.

Is Oakmont/Verona/Penn Hills, PA a good place to move to? -

I am a single woman with a school-aged son. I am looking for a safe, friendly area. I do not mind the country..which area would you consider moving to if you had the chance? Thanks!

Penn Hills is a little questionable in my opinion. I would move further out to Monroeville.

Which Park in Disney has the most rollercoasters? -

Is it Epcot or universal studios?Or something else?Thanks! ( . ^)d

well There is Space Mountain, Run Away Train, both in the Magic Kingdom. Mount Everest in Animal Kingdom. Rock n Roller Coaster in MGM. (Yes I still refer it as MGM) there are no coasters in EPCOT. But if you re looking for Coasters, Universal Studios would be a better place.

traditional coasters, would probably Universal Studios. US and islands of adventure together have 5 i believe (rip ride rockit, the mummy, incredible hulk, and dueling dragons which is two coasters.)magic kingdom has 2- space mountain and big thunder mountainepcot has 0animal kingdom has 1- expedition: Everestdisney studios has 1- Rock n Roller coasterbut keep in mind that though the disney parks dont have coasters , they do have thrill rides. Epcot has Test track and Mission: Mars which is great and disney studios has star tours and tower of terror. If you re mainly looking for just traditional coasters, probably Universal is a better way to go, but overall, i think the disney parks has more variety and a better experience.

Universal isn t a Disney park. The Disney park with the most coasters would be Magic Kingdom: Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Space Mountain, Goofy s BarnstormerThere are no rollercoasters in Epcot.

Disney World is the wrong destination if you are looking for roller coaster thrills. You should visit Universal or Busch Gardens if coasters is what you want.
