NYC Trip in December..need advice quick!!? -

I live in North Carolina and myself and 3 other people are planning to go to NYC this month for Jingle Ball at Madison Square Garden. I m nervous and I need help with my options and I need a couple of questions answered. If I were to book a hotel in the city near MSG, how difficult would it be to get transportation to and from the airport when I arrive and depart? And also, If I were to save money and book a hotel near the airport, how difficult would it be to get to and from the city in a timely manner? Obviously, I m very confused. Any advice is appreciated!! :)

I m sure someone will give you a much better answer than this, but Manhattan is pretty smal if that s where you re staying and taking the subway is the best way to get around. There are stations everywhere. Buses are everywhere and there are free shuttle buses too which are good for getting around in small areas like downtown. Buy a monthly pass for the subway. Costs 94.50 or sumthing like that. You can use it a smany times as you want. Taxis are EVERYWHERE and they re super expensive too. 6 dollars to get you somewhere you can reach in 2 minutes by train. I hate taxis :( Have a nice trip though. I hope you enjoy yourself.

If you want to save money stay near the airport, because Manhattan will be out of you price range. There are several hotel near both LaGuardia and JFK, as well as Newark-Liberty Airport in New Jersey. If you re staying near Newark or JFK, the trip will be very easy. If you re in Newark, NJ Transit will get you to city is about 30 minutes each way. If you near JFK, you can either take the subway or the Long Island Railroad, which will get you to MSG in about 20 to 45 minutes each way.You can also staying in Jersey City, NJ and take the PATH train into the City, the trip take between 10 to 20 minutes each way.If you re staying near LGA, you will need to take a bus to the nearest subway station and then take the subway to the Garden. The trip can take any where from 45 to 60 minutes each way.If you need something a little closer to Manhattan, may I recommend booking a hotel in Long Island City, Queens. The trip from LIC to MSG by subway will take about 15 minutes.Depending on your budget, may I recommend the links below.Good luckNative New Yorker
