Is it okay to visit Dicovery Cove in Orlando this January 2010? would the weather in the 50s be tolerable? -

the tickets is definitely cheaper @ $199. is it worth it? please answer me ASAP so i can book it now. thank you thank you

It depends. Ask yourself these questions before you book it...1) are the pools heated? if so, would you want to go swimming when its 50 degrees outside? 2) Will the price still be the same if you book it in January as it is now? If it is, then Id book it then. watch the weather forcast and go a weekend when its warmer outside. 3) Is there a certain day you HAVE to go ir do you only want to go because its cheaper? 4) is it just you or are you taking family/friends? Talk to the others about what they would prefer.I think swimming when its 50 degrees outside is too bad, but once you get out of the water you ll be freezing. and also remember that sometimes it gets colder than 50 degrees. It could be around low 40s in January. And everyone is different. some can tolerate 50 degrees, while others would be close to hypothermia. Next time its 50 degrees outside- take a shower, put on shorts and a tank (or your swim suit) and stand outside for 10-15 minutes. can you handle it? your not completely wet either. now eat some ice cream outside- or run in the sprinklers. try that- then you ll know if 50 degrees it right for you. Also, if you decided to not go in summer, save your money and go another date.but ultimately its up to you- not us on Yahoo! answers. talk to your party about it. personally, I would book it a week before after watching the weather forcast. That way I know it ll be warmer. but thats just me.have fun either way! =)

I dunno, january and february are like the COLDEST months of the year.

Is this a safe area in Atlanta, Georgia? -

I am moving to Atlanta and I want to make sure I move to a safe area. Here are the apartment buildings I am considering. Please tell me if any or all of them are safe picks. Thanks!*The Bennington, Peachtree Rd*05 Buckhead, also Peachtree Rd*The Rocca, Northside Parkway*Park Towers ll Apartment Homes, Hammond Dr*Solace on Peachtree*The Manor at Buckhead, Piedmont Rd*Post Riverside, Northside Parkway (the one I am leaning more towards)*2115 Piedmont, Piedmont Rd*The Waterford on Piedmont, Piedmont Ave*Post Alexander, Alexander RdThese are the areas I m considering. There are hotel apartment buildings but they are all in these general areas.

All of these are very nice upscale residences in great neighborhoods. Northside Pkwy and Hammond Dr is what I would consider suburban, not intown living. Anything on Peachtree or Peidmont will be right in town either in Midtown, Buckhead or Downtown. Buckhead is trendy expensive and where all the best shopping is. Midtown is nightlife, culture, eclectic and Downtown is the business district. I would scratch 2115 Piedmont off the list. (too many strip joints in the neighborhood). I won t say living in downtown is unsafe but there are areas of the city that suffer from high crime and they aren t always the low income areas of town. Come for a visit, take your time, look around, explore the neighborhoods and talk to a lot of people before making your decision, welcome to ATL.

The Old 4th Ward area is Midtown in what I would call a transitional neighborhood. In other words, until recently it was low income, industrial and dilapidated. With rising property values the developers have moved in and now it s considered an eclectic, trendy and diverse neighborhood. Report Abuse

You will be in a rather rich neighborhood in the ones you have listed.Bunch of nice cars and spoiled 20 year olds............

Whats it like in the States? -

I might be goin to the USA for the holidays. My cousin lives there now and he says he likes Ireland alot better.( I live in Cork btw) I dont blame him though :D But anyway, what are the ppl like? what about the food? What clothes should I bring? haha Im a bit nervous because my cousin said that alot of americans like stereotype? ehh i dont really care so anyway im goin to stop talkin haha any help?! :D

Georgia is nice. The boys are gentlemen. America is like anywhere in that there are some very nice areas and some not so nice areas. You can make the judgment yourself. Don t write us off until you see for yourself. You will find the southern hospitality charming. The traditionally southern food is hearty and what we call comfort food . Breakfast is the biggest meal of the day and if you don t eat sausage gravy on biscuits, then you havent lived! You should bring whatever clothes you want, fashions tend to be generally the same worldwide but it wont be as cold there as it would be in the UK. Don t be alarmed if strangers talk to you or open doors for you. People down south are just nice and sometimes it may seem weird to outsiders, but its pleasant to see that chivalry is still alive and well. If you get a chance to go to Athens and see a football game, take it. Nothing is better than a good old fashioned SEC football game and the frat boys are nice to look at ;)

usually if you dont sound amrican then people are going to look at you differently. i know quite a few people that couldnt fit in in america because they didnt have an american accent. but who knows, maybe if you go there and they think that youre cool then you might be able to fit. but this is unlikely. um, the food is great.they got alot of awesome restaurants there like sizzlers, fridays, espn and taco bell.if youre going to los angeles, florida or any other place that is warm then you should bring shorts and lots of t-shirts. if youre going to new york or any other state thats in the east coast then bring a jacket, some longsleeve shirts and some pants. youre gonna need it cause its really cold there now. well i hope i have informed you enough. (hope you choose my answer as the best answer. i really need some points)

americans do have stereotypessome are really meansome are really kind i know some of both but alot of people are mean to me i dont know whyas far as what to where it depends on what part you go tothe food is ok but most other countries have muc better food so be aware of thatalso if you live in ireland be careful coming here because people have this stereotypes that people form ireland are all drunkshope this helps

I m pretty sure the people are like the ones in Ireland. We have good and bad people, nice and mean ones. And a bunch in between. Since you re coming for the holidays, I would bring lots of sweaters and jackets cause it gets cold here. Unless you re going somewhere southern or western like southern california... then I wouldn t worry too much about being cold. But in the northern states, it snows. I really hope you don t think Americans are bad or weird people haha I m pretty sure most of us are actually normal.

I have been to the USA twice for holidays and I live in London.People - MUCH more friendly to strangers.Food - BIG portionsJust wear what you feel comfortable in and make sure you bring the right clothes depending on where you are going because the climate varies vastly between North/South/East/West.Don t be nervous about the stereotypes, you ll probably see alot more overweight people than you see in Ireland but that s nothing to worry about. I m sure you ll have a great holiday

don t worry too much. and not all americans stereotype so don t pay attention to that rumor. anyway, there are some snobby people, some nice people, and there s just a variety. it s probably like where you live, just a different country. the food is good, but then again i ve never had foreign food. it all depends on what you like. why don t you experiment when you get here? and as for the clothes you should bring, it depends where you re going in the states. if you re going closer the the south, i have no idea. but more north you d probably want warmer clothes. long sleeves, pants, coats. there s no definite answer..

The U.S.A isn t really anything special to be quit honest what we are free? but they are slowly taking our rights away. Some americans do stero type but heck what do we know? You will think that its going to be fun probably just because you haven t ever been here what part are you wanting to go to? I would probably look on line to what the weather would be like that part you are going to.I went to germany and i loved it cause my mom was born and raised there and it was just a new experience but i mean you guys are going to be probably more advanced with the clothing so i mean there are going to be people looking at you just because you are going to be dressesd differently.

Don t worry so much! We have I think more people of Irish descent here than in Ireland! Stereotypes we have about the Irish, well I ll be honest, ALL Irish are alcoholics! I don t really believe that but hey you mentioned stereotypes. If your going to New York then you will feel very much at home in Woodside and Sunnyside (Queens). Check weather.com before you go since you were concerned about the weather. The country is about 70x s larger than Ireland. We currently have snow and a desert with 80F or 24C (it s not an exact conversion) and tropical weather in Florida and lots of rain in Washington! You really should mention the area/city and your responses will be better tailored for you! Enjoy the trip and let your fears go when you board the plane, it will make your trip better! And yes we are much more friendly to strangers than ANY European country, also we have a lot of FAT people! Cheers, CC

Obviously, people in different countries are accustomed to living with certain tendencies.Umm, hopefully you understood that. We re our own culture, pretty much. We re used to rap, hip-hop, eating hot dogs and beans, etc. It would probably take a while to get used to. Us Americans are ignorant. I hate America (and I m an American), but it s not completely bad. You can decide, no one s opinions are exactly the same as everyone else s.You re welcome? Lol. ;p

i ll be honest--- americans can be a lil annoying sometimes!!! :) clothes???? well i guess it doesnt really matter!!! whatevs u where now will usually cut it-- unless ur everyday attire is fedoras and black dresses!!! ;) and the food- some is disgusting, some is awesome!!! i lived in england til i was about 8 so i know how ur feeling!!! but just relax itll be fine!! 3Silver

Our Economy is horrible, most of us are fat, the clothes depend on when and where your going, avoid fast food places due to the fact that our portion sizes are bigger then in other parts in the world and you can find just about every kind of food in the world.

Hey sweetie I would love to help you, but I have no idea where you re going.I m in Arizona. Coming here and want to talk to me? Just hit me up and sent a message, I ll be happy to answer your questions :)

1) My ancestors came from County Cork. 2) It depends on where you go. Each region has a different culture. California is not like Louisiana. Louisiana is not like Massachusetts. Massachusetts is not like Wisconsin.

All of your questions depend on what area of the country you are going to. If you post the state you ll be in you will get better answers.

It depends on where you re going each state is like a different country. Some states are more stereotyped others aren t. So where ya going?I ve heard Washington State is a lot like Ireland.

America blows. Stay in Ireland.

It completely depends on which city you are going to in America. If its somewhere north, dress warm. Food here is great though, I wouldn t worry about that.

It s just like being in the movies! Depends on where exactly your going over here though.

ireland is the size of kentucky.depends on where he went and where you are going... dontcha think?

well its a big place

Depends where your going.Like which state?

People: like everyone has said, it depends on where you go. America is SO diverse that I ve NEVER seen racism in action. In fact, where I live people are more than happy to accommadate foreigners. We do have stereotypes, but it won t work against you in any way. For example: the Swedish hate the Americans, but when I went over there I was very well receiveded. They may dislike a group as a whole, but love the individual people. Does that make sense? Most people are friendly that you encounter walking around cities or towns (especially duringg the Holidays!!) but MANY of the workers (cashiers at stores, wait staff at restaurants, etc.) will be miserable and sometimes just mean. Just smile and move on!The Shopping: Things are CHEAP compared to Europe... hit up an outlet mall wherever you go and you will be shocked at the prices of designer items. The Food: There so many FANTASTIC restaurants here! Remember, we re a melting pot and we still have many immigrants fresh off the boat, so there are authentic Indian, Mexican, Italian, etc... places wherever you go. The melting pot works for you once again, as many restaurants offer untraditional fusions of several cuisines. Look up reviews of restaurants before you go, and avoid APPLEBEE S, RUBY TUESDAY S, TGI FRIDAY s, 99 and other chains at all costs. Yes they are American cuisine but it s overpriced mediocre budget frozen food. Blach. Don t eat Dunkin Donut s bagels either!!

If you are going to the States, go to the Virgin Islands. St John particularly. Ireland sucks.

Do you think going to the Christmas tree lighting tomorrow is a bit much for a second date? -

I think it will be an experience , you know something to see, but really don t know the person that well yet.

No.. It sounds like a great idea.If you don t take them, I would come, shame I don t live in NY.

No, going to a public event is kind of an open ended type of date. There are no real expectations and if everything goes well you can expand upon it by getting something to eat or even just a quick drink afterwords. I say go for it.

It s going to be crowded! I wouldn t recommend that, try going to another place. Good luck!

unless you get there around noon...don t bother...you will see nothing but a million people...

Do you need a passport to get back into the US traveling by land in 2010? -

I am planning on going to Canada in a couple months and I need to know if I need to buy a passport to get back into the US.

Yes, unless you hold a US.Passport Card or an Enhanced Driver s license or Enhanced ID issued by Michigan, New York, Vermont, or Washington state.http://getyouhome.gov/html/lang_eng/inde ..

Yes, the US government now requires a valid passport for every returning US citizen from overseas whether by land or air. But for land crossing into Canada and Mexico, you can apply for a passport card instead of a passport book. A passport card is cheaper it s only $45, but you cannot use this for arriving at any US airports. A book costs $100 but you can use this anywhere be it by land or air travel.

While you can go into Canada from the US with out a passport, you DO need one to get back into the United States.

Yes. Getting into the USA from anywhere requires a passport.

You need a passport now just to get into Canada. so yes you do need a passport

Yes.

Did anyone get accepted to University of Michigan-Ann Arbor yet with a 27 ACT for 2010? -

According to Kaplans Newsweek How To Get Into College 2009 average ACT score for UM is 27-30.

Go to the school s web site and find the current freshman class statistics, which with almost all schools will show the average and ranges of test scores and class ranks or percentiles.
