Memorable New Years Eve parties in NYC? -

I am visiting New York City with some of my close girls. We are looking forward to a memorable, unforgettable, new years together. But with all the New Years parties floating all over the net, I have no idea where to go, and where to look. Any help please? Me and my friends are between 19-26 yrs old. I am trying to avoid the hip hop/rap scene, and bars. Ideally we wanted to find raves, warehouse parties, double floored spaces but we are just looking for a party that will not disappoint. And it is very hard with all the events happening and not being familiar with the events and places. Any help is appreciated. Thank you!

House music is the best!!! Webster Hall and Eden Downtown will be 2 great new years parties this year, it sounds like you would enjoy it!http://newyearsplans.com/nyc-webster-halhttp://newyearsplans.com/nyc-eden.html

I live in los angeles and want to move to san jose. any advice? -

I am looking to possibly move over the summer. What can u expect to pay for an average one bedroom apartment? What are pretty safe neighborhoods. I want plan to attend San Jose State, how is that area? Any advice at all is appreciated. Thank you so much!

i can really help you out, actually. my family moved to calif(san jose) from indiana back in 78 . lived there till 1989,and ended up moving back to indiana because it was just getting expensive there. san jose is a hip and happening city. probably the coolest place to live. south san jose is where silicon valley is,and it is pretty upscale. if you want more middle class, and still pretty decent and liveable, try looking into east san jose. the blossom hill road strip. san jose state university is smack dab right in the heart of down town san jose(the city),so you might wanna concider that too.

one bed room $800-$1200 not cheap

Cheaper flight into LGA but staying in NJ? -

I am going to NYC for New Years Eve and am narrowing down hotel locations. It seems that I am going to get the best bang for my buck if I stay in NJ. The problems that it is cheaper to fly into LGA. So, I can t quite figure out: #1-How long will it take to get from LGA to a hotel in NJ (Secaucus) #2-the money I am saving on a hotel in Jersey, should I just fly into Newark? Please Help....time is running out and I have to get this booked! Thank you!!

I searched on this site and got the Cheapest Flights, check it out,it also had discount coupon codes for expedia,orbitz,travelocity,kayak,pricelihttp://freetravel4ever.blogspot.com

there are quite a few sites that you can search that will likely give you the best prices available. check out the website BookMe and you will be able to compare prices on all the reputable travel sites in just a couple minutes. it s very convenient and will save you a bunch of time and money. Also, make sure you buy them online... otherwise they charge much higher fees for phone orders. good luck.

Just fly into Newark. There are a LOT of hotels and motels just off the airport. Do a little research and you ll find something.

Fly into Newark, because its closer and you can get to your hotel by taxi.Good luck Native New Yorker

How did avril lavigne make 15 dollars performing on a subway? I dont think subway performers make that much? -

from one performance.....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KTE6iPyI-OU2:20

subway performers make a lot, it costs something like $400 just for the permit to be allowed to perform in the new york subwayif people are good and entertaining I would think they make at least $50 an hour down there.

Wasn t lavigne a big Guitarist celebrity?

Will I be safe in Phily at night? -

I am a college student, and I am leaving tonight, for my Thanksgiving break. I will be leaving from 16th st on chesnut, and I am going to the Amtrak station on 30th. I will be walking there from anywhere between 7pm-8pm. i looked online, and it should take about 17-20 min to get there. will i be ok? I don t have enough money for a cab, and i NEED to go home tonight.Do you think I will be ok?

You should be fine, and I have no idea what the other person meant about Chestnut. That area is pretty safe, I ve never had any problem. There is still plenty of foot traffic and all kinds of restaurants open at 7-8 pm. There actually is less open on Market Street by then, but that s still no problem. If you go Market St, you ll pass Trader Joe s on the north at 22nd st, over the bridge and you re there.

Dude Grow a pair. Your in the most heavly traveled policed section of town. Many folks travel From City hall to 30th with out a scratch every day. It s not like A axe killer will chase you down Market st. or something. In Camden? Perhaps.....

Just walk to 15th and Market and take any trolley or the Market-Frankford westbound to 30th Street Station. It only costs $2 for the 3 minute trip.

You should be fine. But, you might want to walk up Market Street instead of Chestnut.

For all you BART passengers? -

have you ever noticed how quiet everyone is on bart in the morning??/...no one chats or has conversations? Just an observation.

agree.. everyone is still sleeping or dread going to work.

It s cold and I get sleepy. Plus for the commute home I am usually sitting with a co-worker.

We re sleepy.

Best place to change uk pounds into dollars in new york city? -

The airport, or a wells fargo bank.

karen t., You can probably go to any bank. I would go with the big known banks, moreso then any of the smaller banks. I m sure they deal with all sorts of foreign money exchanges. Or you might even can go to any Travel Agency in New York, they too, probably do this sort of thing a lot. Good Luck to you. I looked up what the value of the exchange was from BPS to USD, and it s worth more over there then here! I m pretty sure that s right. My Mom seems to think the USD is worth more then the BPS. If I m wrong and it is, your going to walk away with more money then you had! Have Fun! Interesting questions deserve stars! Smile!!

Best: Black Market as you get more for your money.Sell to travellers going to the UK who do not want to loose big to the banks.Safest: Banks (ie. Chase), American Express and Travelex Worldwide Money. If you sell on the black market, make sure you have one of these pens or similar. If possible, trade in the UK (where yo know your area) then bring the cash with you.http://www.amazon.co.uk/Helix-Counterfeihttp://www.staples.com/MMF-Industries-Co
