Alix, my advice is rather than looking online, create a resume and a cover letter and start hitting the pavement. If you go to all of the places around Salina, the managers and the workers will see your dedication to finding a job. If you fill it out online, there is a chance the right people will never see it and then you will think they consider you when, in reality, they lost your application.Since you are 16, try going to the local grocery stores, fast food places, movie theaters and other small shops and see if they are hiring. Try to seek out the manager, introduce yourself to them, ask for an application and so on. This way they can put a name with a face, they can see how you interact with them and then you will no longer be just John Smith but John Smith with an actual handshake. Obviously that means going into a business with nice clothes, even like a suit and tie and just presenting yourself in the best possible light.Another key thing to do is to make sure you take down the managers name and also their phone number. Once you turn in an application, make sure you give them a couple of days to read it over and then request to do an interview. Just keep at it and be persistent in trying to schedule an interview and if you are lucky, the chips will fall in your favor.Good luck.

Road trip to Raleigh, NC...Whats it like there? Should I try somewhere else? If so, whats a good place? -
When I used to live there there was a saying... Raleigh. It s a great place to live but you wouldn t want to visit there. So while that isn t totally true, Raleigh isn t really a tourist destination (but it IS an incredible place to live). But you ll find stuff to keep you busy for a couple of days.Don t count on seeing snow. It s a pretty moderate climate. You might do better going to Asheville.
Raleigh is beautiful with plenty of things to do. Here s the website for events during the Christmas break.http://www.visitraleigh.com/
i would go to myrtle beach myself. or maybe charleston, sc. raleigh is ok at best. if you want a chance at snow, chattanooga, tn is better and on 75 so it is straight north from tampa.
Where will there definitely be snow in California in January? -
There will be snow in the Sierra Nevadas
January is 31 days and there is a big difference between Jan 1 Jan 31. Most places will have snow by the end of the month. Every where is getting snow today. But it may not really snow again for a few weeks, so the beginning of Jan might be a bunch of dirty, leftover stuff.
In my experience, Yosemite is still a pretty good bet. They had 11 inches of snow on The Valley floor yesterday. Other than that, the Lake Tahoe area is a pretty safe bet as well. You can find out more about both of these areas at http://www.discovernortherncalifornia.coHope this is helpful! Yosemite Lake Tahoe are both absolutely gorgeous in the wintertime!
yeah there will definitely be snow every where in the mountains of california we get snow until like march or april lol but im pretty sure that there will be TONS of snow up there in january lol
Yosemite should have snow. Mammoth definately will.
Lake Tahoe! Try Incline Village if you go!
Is Evergreen Valley College open during winter break for highschool students? -
yes
You mean the offices and stuff or what?
If you live in Florida, please answer :) thank you!? -
You will find that the majority of people in Florida are from other parts of the country and world and have been in the same boat as you. People tend to be very laid back here and the fashions won t be any different. Food is pretty much the same but you will find more southern influences on the food. As for college, there s lots here to choose from. If you live here for a year you can get residency and the tuition will be signifigantly lower then if you are considered an out of state student.
I lived in mass up til i was 25 years old then moved to Florida and have been here ever since...The people here are more laidback, the styles of clothes are the same here as what you would wear in the summer in N.H...the food is not any different than what you eat...Fishing and boating are what everybody seems to do here. It s just a laidback state where bikini s rule
I live in St Pete... five minutes from Tampa... just over the bridge. We wear sandals a lot.We eat burgers, pizza, and tacos. We have no accent... just typical American.and it s common for girls to like girls.
GO TO USF GO TO USF!!!!!!
why would the customs and culture be any different when you are still in the same country?? LOLZ
grits ha ha thats great.
Grits!!!! This is not 1857. I have had grits only once in my life.
Whats the easiest way to get to Woodbury Common from Mahattan? -
If it s your first time in NY, I would not recommend going to Woodbury Commons. It takes a whole day to do (between traveling and shopping) and the deals aren t always that great.

Travel Between the Hawaiin Islands . . . . . .? -
Each leg to and from Honolulu is about $50 each way, $100 for a round trip. It is only about a half hour trip, and flights leave hourly during the peak daytime hours. There are local airlines (some are prop planes) but Hawaiian airlines is the 800 lb. gorilla in the islands. Check deals they sometimes have combining car and car/hotel if you stay overnight in Waikiki.
Cheap hotels in Chicago? -
Try the Essex on Michigan Ave. It s near Millenium Park and The Bean . Should be around $100 a night plus or minus.
there are quite a few sites that you can search that will likely show you great hotels at the best prices available. check out the website BookMe and you will be able to compare prices on all the reputable travel sites in just a couple minutes. it s very convenient and will save you a bunch of time and money. Also, make sure you buy them online... otherwise they charge much higher fees for phone orders. good luck.
Chicago s hotel prices have increased steadily over the last few years. Try searching on Hotwire for cheap hotels and then look them up to book directly with the hotel. Search hotel deals in Chicago:http://wifinder.ca/hotwire/hotwirecoupon

Walk the Freedom Trail in Boston. It takes you everywhere you want to go, including the North End, which has the best Italian food in the world. The gelato is to die for. You ll of course want to see New York and Los Angeles, but they re somewhat overrated in my book. Chicago, San Francisco, and San Diego should be at the top of your list. Boston, DC, Denver, Miami, Portland, and Seattle too.If I were you, I d take 1 month+ to make your way down the urban east coast (without a car) from Montreal to Boston to NYC to Philly to DC, and another month+ to drive the West Coast (beautiful drive) from San Diego up to Vancouver, stopping in LA/San Francisco/Portland/Seattle. Stop in Denver and/or Las Vegas on your way to the west coast.A week or two for Chicago / Toronto / Niagara falls. Texas (particularly Austin and San Antonio) is interesting, as is New Orleans - but if it s hard to squeeze them in I may not worry about it. Miami is neat, but it doesn t really have anything that Southern California doesn t other than hurricanes and old people.Major American cities not worth visiting: Houston, Dallas, Atlanta, Detroit, and anywhere in Ohio. They re depressing cultural voids with nothing to do.

How are Clubs in Las Vegas? -
The clubs are terrific and since the recession things have slowed a little so everyone will go way out of their way to make you feel very comfortable. As for the other visitors just about everyone is from someplace else so there are no people clicks to worry about like in a small town. Everyone just comes and goes to eat the great low cost food, gamble a little and see all the shows. Have fun.
The nights clubs are very very very expensive. There is entrance fee plus drinking costs and tip for cocktail. bottled water $8 drink $20-30 Bottle service $375 upSorry I think Vegas is more fun to see a good show of which there are dozens, gambling and get free drinks, enjoy the eye candy, and see the sights of the casinos where you can go to NY, Venice, Luxor, etc.
