What are good restaurants in NYC? -

My grandma, mom, and myself are going to new york for the day on a bus. It drops you off at Macy s on 34th st and we got tickets to see Hair at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre 302 W. 45th st. We aren t really interested in seeing historical sights we just want to wander around so we decided to walk to the theater and I m looking for good restaurants on the way. Also any suggestions of things to check out on this route would be much appreciated. thanks

Check out the link below. I could name you HUNDREDS are good restaurants and eateries that you could visit, and that have excellent choices, but I would go on for days and days AND days. The link allows you to narrow the restaurants down by what kinds of food they serve. Best of New York City :http://gonyc.about.com/od/bestofnewyorkcAll the best ?

There are thousands of restaurants in the Five Boroughs of New York City. Depending on your taste, your budget and your preferred location, may I recommend the link below.http://www.menupages.com/ -- MenuPages.com is the one of the best website on the online. It included menus with prices, as well as restaurant reviews.Good luck, happy holiday and Bon appetit!

it might be a little bit of a walk from where you ll be, but Ruth s Chris on 51st St is unreal. One of my favorite steak houses, also a bit $$$.BUT it is the holidays and it sounds like you three are out for a nice time, this is the place to go.Ruth s Chris148 West 51st StreetNew York, NY 10019(212) 245 - 9600

Aqua Grill in SoHo is my favorite in the city! Amazing food. It is not cheap, but it is not crazy expensive. If you like great food with great service, you ll love it there. I take all my friends there when they come to visit.Have fun!

Mardi Gras underage enforcement? -

I may go to New Orleans for Mardi Gras this year with some friends, but I m only 19. I m just curious as to how easy it is to get drinks when you re underage. Do bars ask to see ID? Do police enforce the no underage drinking rule for people close to 21? Any experience or advice would be appreciated.

Yes the police enforce the underage drinking laws, and if you are obviously underage and run into any of the of state cops you will definitely have trouble. Yes, bartenders will ask to see ID if you look young. Some people manage to slip through, but in general they need their jobs and aren t looking to help out an underage drinker at the risk of being fired. Most of the bartenders in the Quarter have a good deal of street smarts combined with a healthy dose of common sense and personality. In other words they are hired on their ability to mix drinks, be friendly, and ability to know when to say no to avoid a problem for their employer. I would suggest instead of hanging out on Bourbon hoping for alcohol, head over to where the locals catch parades. It s the real thing instead of the tourist stuff on Bourbon and that way you can say you did the real Mardi Gras thing. Before I sound too prudish, I will offer some tips: Having a legal age friend helps. It s more fun to wander about on the street with brief bar visits for a bathroom. There are undercover cops all over Bourbon and they are stationed on top floors of buildings with binoculars observe the crowd s behavior so Bourbon is not a good place to break the law. If caught flashing you will get a warning and if caught again you will get the paddy wagon. Put your money and ID in your front pocket, pick pockets love it when you put your stuff in the back pocket. Many bars admit 18-20 yr olds, but don t serve them alcohol. Avoid the angry preachers and their hecklers, angry drunks, and getting suckered into a bet with the panhandlers, (you ve got your shoes on your feet). If you find yourself getting irritated with the crowd on Bourbon head to Jackson Square for a breather.

When i was younger i got 2 drinking citations from undercover cops for drinking a beer and one was holding a beer i had not taken any sips. So you can get tickets for drinking and possession underage. One was my junior year and one was my senior year. Both were at a bar during Mardi gras. But it was a bar uptown not in the quarter. So be careful. They have undercover cops that will card you. I would walk around with cups that do not show what is in them. I would just be careful. We got away with a lot but sometimes you don t. there isn t really any place you will be safe from cops. You either get away with it or you don t.Some bars on bourbon might be easier to get a drink but they are so trashy and nasty. I hate them.

Some bars card and some don t.Its a craps shoot, really. Just try your luck and stay in the bar that gives you drinks. Most bars check IDs at the doors. If they don t, your chance will be much better. And the cops are usually more worried about flashers and people starting fights.Just do this: if one of your friends is 21, get them to buy your drinks while you stay out of sight of the bartender. That, or flirt with a nice guy, and get him to buy your drinks, lolGood luck, and I hope you stay safe if/when you get thoroughly sh*t faced!

Is it possible to go to disney world in Florida without a drivers license? -

I ve been told that you need to have a valid Uk drivers license for 5 years to be able to drive in the states?? I don t know if this is true?If you can t drive what are you other options? like if you stay in a disney hotel do they provide transport to the parks?

If you stay in at a Disney hotel, you will receive complimentary (a.k.a FREE) transportation from Orlando International Airport to your hotel, and to all of the Disney theme parks. This service is called the Magical Express Service and needs to be reserved in advance. Call (407) 939-6244 to make your reservation and you can visit this link http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/faq/air for more information on the free transportation offered for all Disney hotel guests. So if you stay at a Disney hotel, you never have to drive or have a driver s license. All transportation will be completely free.

Well I m not sure about the first question, but the second question I can answer!Yes, you do have plenty of options! If you stay in a Disney Resort Hotel, you are automatically granted access to buses that will take you to all four theme parks, Downtown Disney Shopping District, and the two water parks. If you stay in the Contemporary Resort, the Polynesian Resort, or the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa, the monorail (which goes to Magic Kingdom and Epcot) goes right through your hotel! Also, if you stay at Port Orleans: French Quarter, Port Orleans: Riverside, or Saratoga Springs, you ll have access to water taxis that take you to and from Downtown Disney Shopping District.Disney is full of transportation other than cars, so enjoy the stress-free rides!PS: Disney s Magical Express bus lines can pick you up from Orlando International Airport and bring you straight to your hotel, or you can rent a towncar, which is what I prefer. Good luck!

United Palace Theater in New York City - stage door, anyone? -

I have never attended a show here before and my friend and I are willing to wait for as long as it takes to get an autograph from a favorite performer of ours (if he will oblige). Does anyone with experience at the venue know where it s located and/or have experiences with it?Thank you!

Well, until someone comes along with a better answer I ll chime in.The theater is in Washington Heights at the corner of 175th Street and Broadway. To get there you can take the A train to 175th St. and head east. Ticketmaster has more travel info here: http://www.ticketmaster.com/United-Palac[Meanwhile, some interesting places nearby are the remnants of the Audubon Ballroom (Broadway at 165th Street) where Malcolm X was shot, High Bridge Park, the Pinehurst staircase, the George Washington Bridge and the Little Red Lighthouse (pedestrian access from 181st St.).]Here s the Wikipedia entry: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_PalaAnd here s a map with Street View showing where it is: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q source=sThere may be a service entrance on 176th St. which is the stage door you re looking for.

Does anyone recommend staying in anaheim when visiting Disneyland and Universal? -

I m not sure whether to stay in LA and drive into Anaheim (haven t looked in to how far it is yet) or actually stay within close distance to Disneyland. Does anyone have any suggestions?Thankyou.

Unless you want to spend a lot of time on the road, traffic can be bad at times, I would recommend staying in the Anaheim area. I am going to assume that you will probably spend more time at Disneyland than at Universal so, if you are, stay at one of the hotels close to Disneyland. The Howard Johnson is nice and not too badly priced. There are a number of other hotels in the area that are quite decent in a variety of price ranges. I stayed at the Sheraton Park last time and had an enjoyable stay there. I have also stayed at the Disneyland Hotel and numerous others. Some were not too fancy but if you are planning on spending a lot of time outside of the room all you really need is a decent place to sleep. What I suggest is looking at the Disney Resort website and checking out their vacation plans. Not necessarily to book a hotel or anything but it will give you a good idea of some of the hotels in the area and what they have. Since Disney generally avoids hotels with a bad rep you will have a list of hotels that are at least okay. You can also check trip adviser and other rating sites.Note, if you are going to spend several days at Universal then look at possbily staying at two hotels, one there and the other near Disneyland. If you are just going for a one day visit then stay near Disneyland.

Universal is a long way from Anaheim...and through lots of traffic. It would be best to stay in Burbank or Universal City if you re headed there. If you stay in the Anaheim Resorts area of town, near Disneyland and the Convention Center, you ll be in good shape for Disneyland. The hotels in that area are all very close to the park, and most of them offer shuttle service, so you won t have to pay for parking. It s looks like a short walk from most of the hotels, but after a long day in the park, you won t want to walk all the way back!

Stay close to Disneyland. Universal is a very fast day. It also has some large escalators, so everything is pretty much stacked up in levels. You can get almost everything done and see everything very quickly. Disneyland takes a lot longer and involves a lot more walking. You ll be fine all day at Universal, but at Disneyland you may want to be within walking distance of a hotel to relax a bit. Anaheim is very safe.

You are travelling to LA. Pick a town somewhere between Disney and Universal that is interesting and safe. For instance, pick a hotel near the beach in Huntington Beach or someplace in Santa Monica. Limiting yourself to someplace geographically close to one of the parks severely impacts your enjoyment of the so cal experience. Anaheim is rather boring once you get out of the house of the mouse and Universal is kind of alone by itself with no other sights in the immediate area. There is more to the Southland than the mouse and movies. Some Recommendations:- stay out of Hollywood after dark- Nearly any beach town (surf city baby!) - Huntington, Redondo, Hermosa, Manhatttan, Venice, Santa Monica, RPV, even Malibu.- Long Beach is nearly the midpoint between your parks. Nice hotels on Ocean Blvd and great restaurants within walking distance. - Pasadena

I ve stayed at two hotels. The Tropicana Inn Suites and The Camelot. Both are in walking distance of Disney (like literally less then ten minutes). They are nice and clean. However I am a picky person and their pillows go flat easily, so I just bring my own. About $100 per night, which is good considering how close they are to Disney. This spring we are staying at Best Western Park Palace, which is the CLOSEST, directly across the street. We ve never stayed there but from the reviews and what we ve heard from friends this is a great place.

I think that it s safer in Anaheim. I ve stayed at the Howard Johnson s it s within walking distance to Disneyland. Parking is $14 a day at Disneyland, I think. At least it is at Walt Disney World...http://www.mousesavers.com/hojo.html

I would stay in Universal City.....those places are a long ways apart...

Winter park, eldora, or loveland? -

which is better. never been skiing in colorado, so which is better overall?

Like the first answer said, Eldora is near Boulder, not so close to the others...Loveland is right off the highway, so it can be pretty busy sometimes. Also it is usually pretty windy there which can be very painful as you near the top of the lift (it kicks up the snow and feels like you are getting little rocks thrown in your face. Winterpark is a very nice resort, very big, lots of skill levels. Can be very busy as well, and crowded on some of the runs. It also has a tubing hill and terrain park. I would pick Winterpark if I were in your situation, the drive can be daunting though so if the weather is bad when you are here, you might be better off with loveland.

winter park.eldora is near boulder, not near the other resorts. Its ok if you only want to go for half day or are staying close to boulder.Loveland is boring IMO. winter park is nice. out of those 3, I wouldn t go to any. I would go to Breckenridge or Copper Mnt.

Winter Park! The slopes are so much more fun, mostly because of how much more difficult they are. But, Winter Park has extreamly long lines, Loveland, on the other hand, not so much.

Tollway, turnpike, how it is used? -

I have never use both of them. How do i use them during driving in the highway? How do i pay?

There is a new system on the Dallas North Tollway. There are now cameras on the tollway that take pictures of your liscence plate and they send you a bill in the mail. They can use the liscence plate number to find out your adress.

At this time the Dallas North Tollway still has toll booths, but not for much longer. If you have exact change you can drop it in, but if not you can go through the lane where a person will make change for you.On the toll roads that don t have toll booths you use a TollTag or else they bill you. You ll need to go to a NTTA office to get a TollTag to put on your windshield. Initially they charge your credit card about $30 - - when the balance gets low they charge another $30. It s good for all toll roads in Texas. If you don t have a TollTag there are places on the toll road that will snap a picture of your license and send a bill to your home address, however there is a handling fee added to the toll charge. If you fail to pay it, heavy fines are added to it and once they decide to collect it can be huge.

Some of the roads have a pass you can buy. You link a credit card or checking account and they put money on the pass. Each gate you pass deducts money. If you don t want that some have cameras that take your car s picture and send you a bill at your registered address. I think some still have toll booths, but I haven t been on a toll road in a while. I d carry exact change if there are still any.

Ever been to a vegas strip club? -

I want to dance in Vegas, but I m not sure I d make the cut. Are all the girls there super skinny with fake breasts?Or is it like any other strip club in America where the girls vary?If you ve ever worked vegas please post your experience!

Most dancers in other parts of the country would not get a job in Vegas. You ve got to be 9.5 or better. And you are correct, the dancers are super hot looking with ample breasts, not necessarily implants although most do have them.

The upscale strip clubs like OG, Crazy Horse, Sapphires, Bada Bing, get the most attractive dancers... weight is not as much a factor as overall appearance. I remember Bailey at Olympic Garden from years ago... she was 6 feet tall and probably considered heavy for a woman but looked spectacular. I think Amazon is the usual term for her body type. The less attractive dancers can be found at the more working class clubs like Glitter Gulch downtown or Talk of the Town. However, personality is equally important as appearance in the Las Vegas strip club business. You have to converse with total strangers all day long and pretend that they re interesting. You have to be able to act like unattractive old men and big huge fat guys are attractive. If you re not able to act that way, then your options are limited to places that just do stage dancing; no interacting with the customers.

I been to alot of them and i would say it really depends on the club.. If you go to Spearmint Rhino, Club Paradise, or Crazy Horse.. Those are the top of the line girls with perfect bodies.. I say the rest like Little Darlings, Olympic Garden Cabaret, Sapphire, Seamless and Treasure, dont get me wrong, they are still very hot looking girls, youll have alot of competition in any of those clubs.. You should just go to a club, sit down, look area and find a girl to chat with to learn the ropes!!

i wish i was there
