There is a new system on the Dallas North Tollway. There are now cameras on the tollway that take pictures of your liscence plate and they send you a bill in the mail. They can use the liscence plate number to find out your adress.
At this time the Dallas North Tollway still has toll booths, but not for much longer. If you have exact change you can drop it in, but if not you can go through the lane where a person will make change for you.On the toll roads that don t have toll booths you use a TollTag or else they bill you. You ll need to go to a NTTA office to get a TollTag to put on your windshield. Initially they charge your credit card about $30 - - when the balance gets low they charge another $30. It s good for all toll roads in Texas. If you don t have a TollTag there are places on the toll road that will snap a picture of your license and send a bill to your home address, however there is a handling fee added to the toll charge. If you fail to pay it, heavy fines are added to it and once they decide to collect it can be huge.
Some of the roads have a pass you can buy. You link a credit card or checking account and they put money on the pass. Each gate you pass deducts money. If you don t want that some have cameras that take your car s picture and send you a bill at your registered address. I think some still have toll booths, but I haven t been on a toll road in a while. I d carry exact change if there are still any.
