Sunland Hospital in Pine Hills was located at the corner of Hiawassee Rd and Silver Star. I have no idea if the building still exists, probably not. I lived near there as a teen and it was still in operation as a mental hospital back in the 70s.

I am SO SICK of living in Chicago-Please help...? -
i live in stockton california the rent is low not to crowded and not far from the bay area san francisco but like this world its not perfect i still struggle to make it however the weather is great
Come to California lol, but if you want a less expensive area you might think Sacramento, Modesto, Merced, Stockton, Fresno, Sanger, Madera, Visalia, or Bakersfield. If you go to places in the bay area like San Francisco, San Jose, Oakland, San Diego, or Los Angeles it will be more expensive.
Yes, Chicago is horrible but so many people deny it. Maybe you should try living in Atlanta. The weather is nicer and the cost of living is much cheaper. Just get away from this hellhole before your twins are born. I m from NYC but I know that s really pricey so I wont even suggest.
LOL good luck with that. I have lived in many other places, there are many reasons why we finally came to Chicago and stayed. I guess you have to find out the truth the hard way. sometimes you do not realize how great you have it until you go elsewhere
then go. who cares. Chicago is for people who want and deserve the best. that is not for everybody. some people have lower standards.
CHICAGO CHANGED! (Not for the better!) I too am a native from Chicago I am 51. I left there in 93 when I was pregnant w/my daughter. I personally raised her in a small town she is now a sophmore in High School a Honor Roll student. But in 2 year s I am planning on moving after she graduates High School to Las Vegas. It is definitley cheaper to live there among the palm trees. Then in Chicago everything is cheaper because the city makes their money from the gambler s tourists. Food, Rent, taxes living it self is reasonable. It is not just a city w/a strip. It has schools, churches the people are happy there..Check it out..It is a wonderful place to live. Unfortunatley my daughter does not want to leave her friends school here so I have to wait until she graduates. Chicago has gone down hill sice I left. That smoking ban there sucks! The Spanish took over it. Even Mayor Dailey had a write up in the Chicago Tribune on how many White Black families moved out of Chicago on a census in the 90 s was not happy about the percentage of it! (My family was one of them!) It was such a lovely multi-cultured city in the 60 s 70 s 80 s. I have nothing against them but...How did they take over a whole city? Only things I miss is the Vince s pizza Vienna hot dogs! (You can t get them out here.) :P Good luck w/your decision your baby s!
