What are some beaches near Seattle? -

Hello, I live in Seattle and need to go to a beach so I can get some sand and Pacific ocean water for a friend for Christmas. I don t own a car, so I have to take the bus and I was just wondering what are some nearby beaches I could go to? Thanks!

There s Madison Park Beach, Golden Gardens Park, Loman Beach Park, Howell Beach, Madrona Beach, Magnuson Beach, and Matthews Beach.

Just to clarify, Seattle is not anywhere near the Pacific - Seattle sits on Puget Sound. The water nearby is salt water, mixed with the freshwater runoff from our local rivers. If you want to get to an actual Pacific Beach, it won t be easy without a car. I d look into what airporter services are available to get you out to the Olympic Peninsula or down to the Long Beach area.If you are content with Puget sound sand and water, then I suggest going to a place like Golden Gardens Park in Seattle (near Shilshole), or Richmond Beach. Our sand is not super white. You may not be getting quite the gift that you think you are getting.Good Luck!

You will freeze your butt off even in the dead of summer. there are no beaches. there are 2 places with sand (Alki and Golden Gardens) but the water is like icebergs and stings.

The Pacific is hours away from Seattle! If you ll settle for Puget Sound water, grab a bus to Golden Gardens in Ballard. Nice park and beach, but don t go near sunset!

Alki Point is the closest and you can probably get there on the bus. West Seattle.

Alki Beach is fun - if you go there try the fish n chips at Spuds - yum..

Try looking around the water.

seatle beach duh!!! lol
