I live by the A train and I want to know how I can get to china town? -

What train can I transfer to get to china town?

The A does stop in Chinatown. All you need to do is take the A and get off at Canal St. Canal St. goes through all of Chinatown. The A stop at Canal St is right near 6th Avenue, so you will be at the western side of Chinatown. However, if you want to get to the other side of Chinatown, you can transfer to the B or D and get off at Grand St.You can also transfer to the N/Q/R/W/4/5 and get off at Canal St, and those trains run through the east part of Chinatown.

Where the A train crosses Canal Street I wouldn t really call Chinatown anymore. The area has spread, but at best you are on the fringe. If you are coming from Brooklyn, I would recommend that you change at Broadway Nassau for the uptown #4 or #5 and take that to Canal Street. From points north there are a couple of things that you could do. Change at 14th street for the Brooklyn bound L train. Take that to Union Square and take the downtown #4 or #5 to Canal Street. Another thing you could do is to switch trains at Fulton Street, Broadway Nassau as before and take the Uptown #4 or #5.

Take the A train directly to Canal Street, which is the western end of Chinatown.I hope this information is very helpful.Good luck

Which airport would it be more convenient to take public transportation into the city. JFK or LGA? -

JFK, without a doubt. From JFK you can just take the AitTrain (monorail) to Jamaica Station and then either take the subway or the LIRR (commuter train) into Manhattan. From LGA you d need to take a bus (which isn t all that convenient to get to). I hate taking the bus.

John F. Kennedy International Airport. You can take the JFK Airtrain from the terminals to either Howard Beach or Jamaica Station for connection to the subway.Good luckNative New Yorker

I would choose LGA... the amount of transfers are less, if you can put up with traveling in a bus, which I do not mind at all. The M60 takes you directly into 125th street, from where you have many combination available to go downtown or uptown.

Either or are easy, depending on traffic. Try the shuttles or buseshttp://www.goairlinkshuttle.comhttp://www.nyairportservice.com/

I agree about JFK. You ve got the Airtran right there, which takes you to Jamaica station. From there, you can either take the Long Island Railroad or a subway into Manhattan.

Newark. The train station is at the airport and it s an easy 15 minute ride into Midtown.

I never understood why NY does not have Subways going right to the airports like they do in both of the Chicago Airports

Always go with JFK whenever possible The air train is right there and there are buses and taxis as well

Go from ERW in Jersey. Takes you right into downtown Manhatten!

What Metro-North weekly ticket should I buy to ride the whole system? -

I want to ride the entire Metro-North system for several days and want the most expensive weekly ticket so I don t have to buy anything else. According to their site, Grand Central-Wassaic is the most expensive, but GC-Waterbury is the farthest. I ve read that New Haven line tickets are priced differently than in-state NY tickets. Which should I get so I can ride to all stations?

Metro North has several different lines: the big three are the Harlem Line, the Hudson Line and the New Haven Line. You can purchase tickets for each individual line, but there are no tickets that will permit you to ride all of the lines. A good deal of ridership on Metro North is for commuting, and people really don t require any sort of ticket for all of the lines.Wassaic is on the Harlem Line, and Waterbury is a branch off of the New Haven Line. So if you want to visit both stations, you d have to buy two different tickets. Really it depends on what your intentions are. Are you looking to sightsee? Do you have time to purchase tickets in advance? If you purchase online, tickets are cheaper. If you want to sightsee, I would suggest taking the ride to Wassaic. Honestly, Waterbury is really not all that interesting of a station to visit. If you want to experience the New Haven Line, I d take a ride to New Haven s Union Station.

Metro North is not like the subway. You need different tickets for different lines. The most expensive on one line will get you nowhere on another line. Just buy tickets at the station for where ever you need to go. One the train is alot more

Fun things to do in Monterey, CA? -

What are some fun things to do in Monterey CA? I am thinking of taking a trip there with my boyfriend around New Years time. What is there to do this time of year? Thanks!

The best thing in town is the aquarium on Cannery Row. If you re into shopping there are outlet stores just uphill from there, and there are lots of touristy and artsy shops along the Row. Lots of shops on Fisherman s Wharf, too, and OK if not terrific restauarants. There are some nice hotels in town, as well as a bunch of OK to pretty nice motels, but a neat place to stay if you can get in is at the Asilomar Conference Center in Pacific Grove, an adjacent town. Widely separated residence buildings with 6 to 8 nice units each, located in a woods, with a short walk to the beach.

If you have 3 to 4 days, plan a trip to Cannery Row / Aquarium and shops in the area -- one day.Take the 17 mile drive and stop and walk along the beach (take your time)-- day two.Rent a place in Carmel that overlooks the ocean, then take daily walks along the dog beach -- day three. Eat out at least three expensive restaurants (plan on $100) per couple, as dining is pricey.Check out Laguna/Seca for any races.Have fun.

San Jose- Winchester Mystery House and Great Mall outlets in Milpitas. Santa Cruz area- 30 mins from San Jose and less than an hour away south of San Francisco Santa Cruz Beach Boalkwalk - http://www.beachboardwalk.com/ The Mystery Spot : http://www.mysteryspot.com/ Another 20 mins away- The famous Monterey Bay Aquarium/Pier- stay overnight. (Romantic)check out the beautiful shore of Carmel to view Pebble Beach.Napa Wine Country is about 2 hours north of San Francisco. They have wine tour that brings you there form any SF hotels. Visit their outlet and Wines tours. Yummy!

If you have a car, head down south on Highway 1 and soon you will see some of the most beautiful coastline anywhere. Get out and hike around at Point Lobos. It s awesome.
