Does anyone known of any Houston clubs that dont ID? -

or at least allow you to slip them some money to get in? I ve been to other states (like Cali) that allow this but I haven t found any in Houston. I m seventeen but could pass as older. Please help me out.

Ok. So we ve all been there. Being under age however feeling like the rule shoudn t apply to you. I mean we ve all broken this rule or at least know of people who have. No shame in wanting in on some of the action. That being said... it s not like how it was back in the days. Many of the clubs worth going to have high-end scanners that check ID s and its authenticity. If you are using your friends ID you d have a better chance then using a fake one that is purchased from some flea-market. Now while I am not posting this to condone the act of bribing door guys, breaking TABC laws, or undermining and manipulating staff at lounges .. lets face it.... you re gonna do it whether myself or another on this board says not to. No one will let you come in knowing that you are a minor. You at the least have to show an ID and state that you are older if they ask. It is their duty to inspect the ID but hey if you dont make a scene, appear to fit into the crowd without standing out like a sour thumb, and come in a group of usually older people then they tend to let you in. I m speaking of venues on Washington Ave. to Downtown to Midtown. No club or lounge is allowed to give entry to minors. If they know they are minors then they cannot give them access. However, they protect themselves if they allow the kid to come in if he/she has displayed ID to show that they are old and there was due diligence to presume that the person showing the ID is the person who they say they are to be. What the lengths or the requirement in inspecting this is where it goes into the grey area and well.... if the door guy likes you he ll let you in... if not then you get embarrassed in front of every one as you walk with your head down and tail between your legs in the hot outfit you thought you were going to sport that evening before your friends... in front of strangers thinking damn that sucks to be you .Happy clubbing and hope you have fun... be safe and responsible.

NO Houston is pretty strict esp with TABC ( TX Alcoholic Beverage Commisssion) laws, sorry move to another state , have friends buy you booze wait to GROW up be of legal age suffer like we all had to. No such thing as fake ID s anymore either. At least not without getting busted VERY easily. Go back to Cali would be my best suggestion b/c you re NOT going to find that activity anymore in Houston. TABC has REALLY cracked down !!!!

You are wrong on that!! I live in Cali, and they are super strict on that stuff... I am not sure if it has just been recent or what (I just moved here, not that long ago, but long ago enough I know what is going on), but there is no such thing as a 17 year old getting in an 18+ club here...But you could attempt it, but I would just wait another year... C mon, it s not that long...Cali sucks! I miss Houston!! :/

you may be able to get into a hole in the wall type of venue by doing this but no reputable club is going to allow such an illegal thing to go on.... trust me, the TABC is always nearby and will prosecute you and the club.. the club could actually lose their license.. not worth it!The best advice I can offer is to just find a club where the minimum age is 17!

come to london... you won t have a problem!

Is New York City overrated? -

If you believe that having every thing you want or need is over rated, then, it is. For me, it is wonderful!

That s a matter of opinion - and a chat topic, not a travel question. But, no.

NO!

Living in Austin, TX? -

I am 24 and about to graduate with a teaching degree. I want to move to a new city and heard that Austin is great. I would love any information about living there!

I m 22 and have lived in Austin for about 17 years years. I have also lived in Los Angeles and I absolutely adore TEXAS!! Music, clubbing , Longhorn football games, concerts, and festivals are huge here. There is a really good party scene on weekends dowtown where there are a LOT of hot guys if you know what clubs are good. There aren t really any hostile people here like in L.A. When there is a major Longhorn football game you will see the entire city covered in burnt orange t-shirts! It s great! Downtown and the city itself is very beautiful. Every year we have the Pecan Festival which is not as nutty as it sounds. They have homemade food, home-woven handi crafts, beautiful artwork, live music, and great jewlry. We also have the Austin City Limits music festival where hundreds of bands get together and play for about 3-4 days. Also, there is SXSW music festival and the Trail of Lights which is a Christmas trail full of lights and cute little scenerios with a huge Christmas tree, Santa s Post Office, and the North Pole. All in all Austin is amazing! Hope this helped!!

I lived in Austin from 1957 until 1973, then moved back there in 2000 until 2002. Austin is a great town but it has one major problem. Austin is 40 years behind other city s of it s size in road construction. Traffic is a living hell in the morning and afternoon. From 1957 and 89,000 population to 1973, and 235,000 it wasn t to bad. But today it s over a 1,000,000. Austin use to be a lovely place to live, but growth has ruined much of its past prestine country side.
