I personally like the museums. Let s face it, there is so much to see and talk about; artworks (including scuptures), American history, natural history, air and space history. I find such dates to be more stimulating that simply going to a movie and remaining silent for a full 100 minutes. Also, you can say, Hey. Let s go have a bite to eat at the food court. It s most convenient and doesn t sound like a cheap idea when you re hungry. Also, lots of people that live in this area for a long time usually have not done the touristy stuff in ages. I know I had lived in the area for a full 20 years before I went to the top of the Washington Monument (again) because I took a date there. So, just visiting the monuments is not a bad idea either.
if you both celebrate christmas, go check out the national christmas tree...i love going on dates to museums, but then again i m an IB student :Pin maryland pretty close to DC there is this place called brookside gardens they have really cool holiday light displays... it s a great place to walk around holding hands, etc.
I would go to either the Botanic Gardens or ice skating on the fountain at the National Gallery s sculpture garden. Both places are within walking distance of one of my favorite places to eat - Teaism in Penn Quarter.
just walk around DC, monuments, capitol, white house, ww2 memorial, museums, botanical garden, etc etc then eat DC street hotdogs...it s cheap and its all around dc
