Is anyone going to the tree lighting Wednesday in Rockefeller Center? -

What time do you go?

If you re going, get there early, because its going to get packed. Also, take public transit, don t bring your car into the City.In case you haven t known who s going to be making appearing at the tree lighting ceremony, check the link below.Good luckNative New Yorker

If you go to the tree lighting, get there at least an hour before it starts.I am not going to go. I don t want to stand outside for a long time while being wedged between a lot of people to see the tree being lit.Besides, they cover this on T.V, and I would rather see it from home. Also, remember the tree is up for a long time, so I am in no rush to go see it being lit on the first night.

Watching it at home is just fine for me.If you can manage the cold, long standing and the expected crowd, get there by 3:00 PM.

If you re going to go, get there early. I used to work across the street and by 5 people would be standing in the middle of the street already. If you want to get a good view, I highly suggest getting there around 3.

I lost my nyc id and i moved to mass i need to get one for mass what will i need to do that? -

will be a featured entertainer at the Palms. was in the LV review jorunal on 12/6 normclark.com prices do not know. but try it at the on line box office.

there are quite a few sites that you can search that will likely give you the best prices available. check out the website BookMe and you will be able to compare prices on all the reputable concert ticket sites in just a couple minutes. it s very convenient and will save you a bunch of time and money. Also, make sure you buy them online... otherwise they charge much higher fees for phone orders. good luck.

No tickets in that price range and the shows are all sold out

Is it easy to visit the attractions in san francisco by public transportation? -

we re planning to visit san fo stay in a hotel only, we are not sure though if its better to find a hotel near the airport where the hotel will give us free transportation to fro the airport or just stay in a hotel near the attractions just use public transportation from the hotel to the airport when we leave.. i hope i explained it well. please help, need some advice.. thanks

Stay in a Union Square Hotel if you can. There you will be near the Cable Car turntable, the SF Visitor s Center in Hallidie Plaza, the underground MUNI and BART lines, within walking distance of Chinatown via Grant Ave, Macy s and Westfield Mall shopping centers. Take one of the MUNI rails which you can catch at street level to the Ferry Building. When you leave, check the schedule because you can take a BART to the airport. If it s not possible, you might need to call the shuttle service to pick you up from the hotel. The manager or hotel staff can assist you with that.Drop by the SF Visitor s Center.Buy a visitor s passes for unlimited rides on the MUNI at the MUNI kiosk at the turnaround which is in Hallidie Plaza, Market Powell St. Tell them you want to ride the cable car too. It goes from there to Fisherman s Wharf. No matter how warm it is, be sure to take a jacket with you when you leave your hotel. Dressing in layers helps, too.Macy s opens at 10 am and there are eating places in the basement. Westfield Mall also has eating places. I know their coffee shop opens earlier but I m not certain when their restaurants open in the food court.

Public Transportation is the way to go. Bart connects from the airport to downtown for less than $10 per person. Even if you stay near the airport you can use the hotel shuttle to get to Bart and then Bart into the city.SF s hills, one way streets and nightmare parking present real challenges to visitors and most attractions are very easy to get to via public transport.

To expand on the good answers above, you can purchase Muni all-day passports for one, three or seven days. They give you unlimited rides on all buses and cable cars; just the cable car rides make it cost-effective, since their rides are $5.00 each direction. Here s info on the passports and where to purchase them (scroll down):http://www.sfmta.com/cms/mfares/passvendNote that you can even purchase them at the airport Information Booth.Unfortunately, they don t cover BART, but you ll probably only use it to get to and from the airport.

Public transportation in SF is good. You can take BART from the airport to the city, and then Muni rail, buses and cable cars to get around the city.

San Francisco has the best public transportation in all of California. (About the only good thing I will say about the city I was born in.) You shouldn t have trouble getting around.

Considering moving to Hawaii. Whats life like in Honolulu? -

I m considering moving to Hawaii. Would you please tell me what life is like on the island. I m also having trouble finding info or pictures of any apartments. I d like a nice one in a safe neighborhood. Any help given is appreciated.

Living in Hawaii is in some ways, really great. The weather is consistently good, the beaches are beautiful, the mountains are green, we have rainbows almost daily. The mix of various ethnicities makes life interesting the potlucks are the best!In other ways, it is pretty much like living anywhere. You have a job, you come home after work, do chores, etc. What it is NOT like is being on vacation in Hawaii. You aren t going to the beach every day eating out at nice restaurants every night. The downside to living in Hawaii is that it is expensive. Very expensive. It is far away from everywhere making it costly time consuming to travel anywhere. If Grandpa dies, you may or may not be able to make it home for the funeral. Some folks don t deal well with being a minority, here, everyone is a minority. The public school system is not the best, if you have or plan to have kids. You may need to work two jobs to make ends meet. Your standard of living will almost certainly go down in terms of how big or nice an apartment you can rent, how often you go out, where you can afford to vacation, etc. The pay scale does NOT keep up with the cost of living.I have lived here for 30 years to me the good outweighs the bad. But not everyone makes the adjustment to island living.A couple of things about finding an apartment... Finding a safe neighborhood isn t too hard. Our violent crime rates are quite low. Finding a nice apartment that is affordable (unless money is no object) is not so easy. There really aren t many buildings that are built as rental apartments, like you will find on the mainland. Most buildings are condos, so you end up renting from an owner who sometimes employs a property manager, but it will not be in a complex where all of the units are rentals. That is why you are having trouble finding info or pictures of apartments. If you are serious about moving here, be sure you are arriving with a good amount of savings, and always make sure you have enough set aside to get yourself back home if things don t work out for you. It s best if you can line up a job in advance.

It s not all paradise. It s always hot, which I do not like at all! D:There s always a lot of traffic in the direction I need to go, In Ewa Beach it never rains, And sometimes it can just suck. But other than that, I love the local food. That is definitely the best part about living here.I would avoid streets in Waipahu and the ghetto parts of Aiea.

it s nice and beautiful here. but it s expensive to live here, unless you make over $200,000 a year, then you probably can live in comfort here. most local people here work 2 or 3 jobs, just so they can pay the rent on time

Honolulu is like a lot of other big cities, only cleaner. Big buildings, cars, and plenty of street hustlers. If you re more than a block from the beach you wouldn t even know you re on an island. Move to Maui.Hurt, The Skidmark Kidhttp://www.skidmarkkid.com/

How can you possibly be having trouble finding pictures of apartments when a quick search of Craigslist shows nothing but apartments listed with pictures? Seriously. http://honolulu.craigslist.org/apa/

it s a nice place to live, environment ways that is. locals don t like haoles (whites and tourists) much though, not all are hateful towards haoles but i ve noticed it quite a lot seeing as i was born and raised in kona, hawaii and am a blond caucasian woman.i m not saying all locals are in some way hostile towards haoles, but i do know you need to stand your ground if any of them decide you re a good target for some emotional punishment or from time to time a fight. but the reason they do this is because of their belief that haoles ruined the islands and stole the land from them, when in fact they sold the land to the haoles but they deny that and are themselves ruining the land by selling it to developers who plan out golf courses and resorts. and they claim haoles are the racist ones in the islands, but, as i ve learned, it s the whites that are discriminated against most here.but if you are in a good neighborhood and work at a good job, then you wouldn t have to worry about putting up with the ignorance. and make friends with as many people as you can of all skin tones, you should be fine. and learn a bit about the history of hawaii.i have only lived on the Big Island and so only know about this place. and if you are serious about moving here, you should search craigslist for apartments and jobs before you book your ticket. i hear that oahu has a good job market. the BI is a good place if you want some space. maui is good if you have the money and hope to see some celebrities from time to time. the other islands i m not sure about. but do your research first!
