What can I do to not spend so much money when I leave town on a weekend get a way trip. In the past I? -

end up spending $700.00 - 1,000.00 for a weekend party I live it up ! But even thought I have fun I m looking for ways to not spend so much money all that money is spent is on myself, entertainment living like a king, partying like there is no tomorrow.

Life is too short to be worried about how much money you can or cannot spend, if you have the money and can afford to spend it i say go ahead and live like a king! If you cant afford to be spending all that money I suggest doing activities that dont require money like sports or just going to a night club and spend some money.

spend it on me. I will take you to all the parties for a flat fee of $1000 or more if you have it. Why waste it on some other jerk.

Do not go to the clubs, set a daily max on gambling, and spend more time walking and enjoying the sights and other entertainment like Wax Museum, malls

Just set a budget before you leave. Set a certain amount of money for food, drinks, gambling....

Don t go.

What trains or connections can i take to get from Columbus, Ohio to Bloomington, Indiana? -

i dont wanna drive the distance and prefer to take public transit..what trains would i have to take and are there trains connecting to the two?

call your travel agent or the railroad that goes through your city. For convenience, you might need a bus.

Check with am Track on line. I haven t travel by train since I went to Chicago.

Elderly parents driving from San Antonio TX to Phx,AZ, wondering road conditions and weather they find? -

I m sure they will stay on the inter sates, just don t know which. Please calm my worries. They went to my Grandmother s funeral, she was 96.

Minimal chance of rain or freezing weather. If they stay on I-10, which is the only logical way to go, they should be fine. Do what I did with my parents...insist that they get (and keep) a cell phone. AT T has roadside assistance available for about $3.00 per month. Peace of mind...priceless!

Should be OK. Like Donna stated stay on IH 10. Tell them to stop often. Overnight also. The motel can look up road conditions if they don t have a laptop computer. When I drove to Las Vegas last year, I bought two cell phones from different companies, I didn t have problems talking in West Texas. We belong to AAA also. The Weather Channel /weather.com and NOAA /noaa.gov are helpful.

I am gay and want to move to a warmer southern state.. where would be the best place to live? -

I understand there are no southern states with legalized gay marriage, but all the states that are legal are SOOO FRIGGIN COLD.. we have 2 kids, and obviously want safety and good education. However, finding a diverse place to live with all of the above qualities isn t that easy... can someone give a suggestion please?

Austin, Texas. It s a great city with a lot of diversity. Also, it has a great school system.

Florida Keys

Key West and Fort Lauderdale are both very gay friendly.

Who lives in atlanta?...how is it over there? -

what are the neighborhood nicknames there? is it ghetto

It depends on where you go. It varies from very ghetto to more money than GodNeighborhood nicknamesVirginia Highland: Va-HiEast Atlanta: EAVCabbagetown: C-townDecatur: Di@k hater (large lesbian population)10th Ave in Midtown: Rainbow Row (very gay)Grant Park: The GPKBoulevard from Ponce to Freedom Pkwy: Section 8There are a lot more neighborhoods, but they don t have nicknamesOld Fourth WardCandler ParkInman ParkBuckheadBrookhavenDruid HillsBerkley ParkCastleberry HillPeoplestownBoulevard HeightsBenteen ParkETC.

I live in Atlanta....Its only ghetto in the ghetto parts like anywhere else, but most of the city of Atlanta is not ghetto .Nicknames for the city of Atlanta : ATL, Hotlanta (only people not from Atlanta say that but it needs to stop), The A, The Gate City, A-Town, Mylanta, The Dirty, The Big Peach

In the poor sections it s ghetto but looking at the metro Atlanta area as a whole it is very nice upscale comfortable city to live in.I m sure in the city you live in (and every other city in the world) there are some areas that you could define as ghetto . Atlanta is no different.

Where can we store ALL our files nnn ALL our web pages online for FREE no need pay money? -

As Obvious posted with an explanation of why, there doesn t seem to be any place to store all types of your files for free. There are places to store some photos, but they usually compress the photo file, so it s not the same as what you uploaded. Google: photo storage online to find some free places. You basically get what you pay for, so if you want to save your files online, you re going to have to pay. There aren t as many free webpage services as their used to be, and the storage tends to be limited. The best place I have found is imageevent.com Their power premium package is $65 a year and includes unlimited image capacity and large file support, up to 100mb each file, all video formats and PDF, web formats (web pages) and Office formats. About the only thing you can t store is music, like from itunes. I ve used them for years and have never had a problem. They have a less expensive package, too. I need to keep my images uncompressed and in case anything happens to my home computers and back ups, I don t want to lose them. http://imageevent.com/packages.jsp

I just don t get it. Every day people post messages in here wanting something for nothing. My guess is that a lot of people are still sponging off mom and dad, or have recently been liberated , and are still recovering from the shock of having to pay for everything.Let me ask you this: Are you willing to work at your job for no pay? I didn t think so. So lesson #1 for today is this: There isn t any free lunch. Or web space. Those servers cost money, and it s justified that those companies ask you to pay (or get advertisers to pay).Besides, why would you want to save all your files with someone else, anyway?

Obviousman pretty much took the words right out of my keyboard.

Best way to get from China Town to the Castro in San Francisco without taking a taxi? -

Walk south on Grant to Market Street. (You can also walk west one block to Stockton and catch the 30 or 45 bus to Market, but it s probably quicker and more enjoyable to walk.) If you walk, it s nicer to go down Grant, because Stockton Street takes you through a tunnel. At Market, you have two choices:1) Catch the F streetcar (historic cars) traveling toward Castro (southwest), and take it to the end of the line. This runs at street level, and ends at 17th Street near the corner of Castro and Market. You ll get views of the most blighted part of Market Street, but the neighborhood improves as you approach Castro.2) Walk southwest on Market a short distance until you come to a stairway down to the underground Powell Street MUNI/BART station. (There are entrances on Market near Fourth Street, before you get to Powell.) Take the MUNI Metro K, L, or M line *outbound* to the Castro Station. (Don t take the J or N -- they don t stop at Castro. Also, make sure you re catching an outbound train, and not inbound.) Castro will be the fourth stop, after Civic Center, Van Ness, and Church Street.Option #2 is faster, but option #1 uses MUNI s interesting collection of historic streetcars. No matter how you do it, it costs $2 (unless you have a MUNI pass). If you take a bus down Stockton, make sure you save the transfer to use on the next part of the trip.---Silvermist s suggestion that you walk from Chinatown to the Castro is very bad advice. It s about 2.75 miles or longer (roughly a 55-minute walk), but the route takes you through one of the most crime- and drug-infested neighborhoods of the city (the Tenderloin, and Market Street between about 5th and 8th).For the most part, San Francisco is a great walking city, and most neighborhoods are pretty safe, but this is an exception. It s an area that most people want to avoid. At best, you ll have an unpleasant walk; at worst, you ll get mugged. I strongly recommend that you take advantage of MUNI instead.

no need to pay for an expensive cabride- walk south to Market street and catch the F line to the castro.

I walk.

Question about Olympia Washington? -

im trying to convince my parents about moving from nova scotia, canada to olympia, washington, i need some reasons to back me up! my dad is a lawyer so after he went back to university for say like a year, then would that be a good place for him to find a job? also is the cost of living more or less than Nova Scotia? Thanks

Melissa, you will need lots of facts and good information about the city if you hope to convince your parents to move, not only cities, but countries. The biggest issue will be employment and cost of living. So start searching and doing the comparisons. Here are some links that will help:http://www.ci.olympia.wa.us/http://www.city-data.com/city/Olympia-Wahttp://www.visitolympia.com/

It s the capital. That s pretty fabulous in and of itself.

With all do respect, why Olympia, WA? That is kinda random.

Help finding a national park? -

im looking for a park that does not have designated campsites or where you do not have to camp in the designated campsites the only place i have found is the grand canyon park witch you have to pay for a permit to camp anywhere but i dont care if i have to pay or not just looking for an adventure

forget national parks and look into national forests for the type of camping you want to do.

Are you trying to stay within certain states? As my father ALWAYS took us on nature family vacations, i have been to quite a few national parks, whether or not i liked it. :)I suggest Zion National Park or Mt. Hood Oregon.Mt. Hood has free camping for as long as you like, in a very woodsy, open area, there s a lake there to fish from (no charge), it s beautiful, there s snow up at the glacier (X amount of miles away). It s real camping though, no bathrooms, etc.Zion is boring cuz there s nothing to do, but it s beautiful and hiking the narrows is the most fun!

Mojave National Preserve. Death Valley National Park. Joshua Tree National Park. Badlands NP. Petrified Forest/Painted Desert NP. Bandelier NM.What part of the country do you want to go to and what time of year?

A lot of the national parks have back-country camping areas. Check the website for each park.

Here s a link to the site:http://www.nps.gov/index.htm
