What area should I look for hotels when visiting NYC? -

Visiting NYC from DC on megabus in December. Bus lets off @ 28th st 7th ave. Want to visit touristy places, times square, rockefeller ctr, etc. What area best to search for hotels covenient to bus arrival/departure? Thanx

we visited NYC from Scotland in May for 7 days and stayed in a beautiful safe hotel called 70 Park Avenue, obviously this was on Park Avenue. it was in between 37th and 38th st, and we came out of our hotel and walked across a couple of streets and we were on 42nd street which was where Grand central terminal is, so central for transport that way, then if you walk up 42nd street to 5th avenue, you hit Bryant park, where NY fashion week is based, and the NY library, so we found this really central. you would walk to your right to get to rockefella centre or turn to your left to get to Empire state building or just continue to walk straight on to reach Times square. we also found this hotel and area to be close enough to walk to everything but far enough away that when it was bed time, you didn t hear so much noise that you may from a hotel in Times square for instance.Hope this helps you, enjoy your holiday in NY.

You re going to be dropped of near Penn Station, there are two hotels near by that is with walking distance to the Penn Station. The Hotel Pennsylvania, which is located on 7th Avenue between 32nd and 33rd Street, and The New York Hotel, which is located on 8th Avenue and 34th Streets. The links below are reviews for both hotels.Good luckNative New Yorker

there are quite a few sites that you can search that will likely show you great hotels at the best prices available. check out the website BookMe and you will be able to compare prices on all the reputable travel sites in just a couple minutes. it s very convenient and will save you a bunch of time and money. Also, make sure you buy them online... otherwise they charge much higher fees for phone orders. good luck.
