Aloha!Congratulations on your upcoming trip!As you don t mention which island you ll be at I m going to give you some general ideas - my specialty is really Oahu =)1) try several different beaches - they all have their own feeling and personality, from vibrant waikiki to laid back Lanikai, to the pounding North Shore of Oahu - try lots and see what you like best2) go snorkeling - snorkeling in HI is so fun and rewarding, there are tons of amazing places to choose from that will show you amazing fish, honu (sea turtles), eels and more - do this several times, in several locations3) If you are there in the winter months go whale watching - Humpback whales are in HI from Nov-March and are not to be missed!4) Explore the amazing Hawaiian cultural sites - Heiau or temples are very old, sacred and moving. there are also ancient Hawaiian fish ponds and many other sorts of sites. Hawaii is so much more than sunscreen and surfing, check it out =)5) Explore museums and galleries, everything from palaces, historic shipping and whaling to modern art, there is so much out there to see! (and a lot of it is free)6) learn to surf - there are lots of great places to take a beginners surfing lesson, not many other places in the world to do this =)7) do some fun touristy things such as go to the aquarium, the zoo, take in a luau or free hula show, get in some shopping or try a local festival!8) try the food - definitely try a few different plate lunch places, they are all over the islands and everyone has their favorite (I have 2 actually) plate lunch is usually a scoop of rice, macaroni salad, slaw and 1-3 meat or fish entrees ususally for $7 or less - very ono! (delicious)There is so much more to do - if you re on Oahu please go to Pearl Harbor and consider hiking Diamond Head! If you re on Maui do go see the sunrise or sunset on Haleakala, if on the Big Island do go to Volcano s National ParkIf you need more ideas or suggestions please ask, I love Hawaii!
At least one of the days I would stand on beach with a Surf board. Look cool even if you do not know how to Surf. When some one approaches you hold your stomach in flex your arms. Then they will ask are you going out you reply I,m waiting for the perfect wave .Wipe Out / have fun Hawaii is beautiful then Visit Pearl Harbor pay respect to our for father whom gave us the freedom to be here today. You haven t told us when you are going or which islands you are going to. Both are factors in your experience. If you re going between Nov-May, be sure to go to Maui and see the humpback whales. They come to the Ka anapali beach area every year to birth their young. Be sure to take a boat tour.
if your on oahu,, although think they hafve it on maui too, but go to the polynision culture center (PCC) its an all day thing from morning til the night show and you will be amazed. Its almost a must,
