Student life of UC Denver? -

So I have been accepted at University of Colorado at Denver. I visited it once, four years ago when my Brother was looking. I liked the campus then, and looking back, I remember it being a metropolitan campus, in the heart of the city. I also love the idea of it being near the mountains. However, I have some questions:1) I am gay, and I am wondering what the gay community is on campus (I m not looking for like clubs, but more of just will I be able to meet gay people.)2) What is the student life like? I understand that it is a commuter campus, but there is student campus.3) How does a degree from UC Denver hold up?4) I m looking at majoring in Film. Are there any film opportunities in Denver?Thank you so much!

I hope that you are aware that the University of Denver is a private school, with roots in Methodist Church. They may not be as open to LGBT, as other schools. Personally, I do not know, but I know of their religious roots. Their Office of Student Affiars may be able to assist you once there.http://www.du.edu/studentlife/Academically, they are ranked very high.

Boulder is the more creditable school than Denver. But honestly, no one cares. Craigslist is perhaps the best place to looks for film gigs and what not. There are quite a few productions that come threw Denver. They re always looking for talent, post production people and other stuff. Again, just check Craigslist from time to time. There are gay people on campus. I think they might even have a club. I went there a few years ago and one of the members of the student government was gay. So I m sure somethings come of it.

I think you can disregard one answer as it pertains to the University of Denver, not UC denver. And as far as accreditation goes Denver is now ranked the same as Boulder in terms of the degree. I am not an art major, but the school of arts and media is very large, with a good program. There really aren t many film opportunities in Denver unfortunately. Student life is difficult if you do commute as most events are either during normal class times or late at night. But being downtown is an awesome atmosphere for going to coffee or lunch with friends or just grabbing a gelato between classes. I m not really familiar with the gay community on campus, but I do know it is fairly large, and Queer prom, which is not affiliated with the school, is held on campus every year.
