New York, NY Questions? -

Thank you for pursuing my questions here they are:1. If I wanted to fly in to the closest place to the theater district, which airport? (such as JFK?)2. Any good hotels by the theater district that you suggest? 3. We would be there in December, any suggestions (clothes, stuff to do, etc.?)Thank you, any help is greatly appreciated. -Giuliana

LaGuardia Airport is closer than JFK, but each will take about the same time to get to midtown as JFK has better connections. There are a lot of hotels near the theaters. Milford Plaza might be a little cheaper, if not as nice. Marriot Marquis is close enough to have a theater in the building. It can get cold in December. I have experienced temperature as low as 5 degrees F. for a whole week, but that was a one time anomaly. Usually the temperature will not fall below forty. Maybe thirty five on a rare cold night. Rain could happen, but it is usually not a big problem. If you stay in that area, try looking for restaurants along Ninth Ave. That is only two blocks west, but a world of difference. Less money for better food.By things to do, I will assume that you have a basic familiarity with attractions. Of course the tree in Rockefeller Center and Nearby Fifth ave are reasons that people come here. See Grand Central Terminal as it is decked out for the season. Make sure to see the Transit Museum there. If you like trhat go to the main museum in nearby Brooklyn. It is easy enough to get to and they can direct you at the shop.

Newark Liberty International Airport is a hell of a lot closer, and the PATH trains make it easy to get where you want to go.Weather can be very variable, but you re unlikely to need a hat. Unless there s a good wind blowing, two layers should cut it since you ll be indoors most of the time. The Marriot Marquis, Parmount, Millenium Broadway, and the Doubletree Broadway should do you good, but the prices range a fair amount. I like the Club Quarters Midtown Hotel right in the theatre district. And don t forget Father Duffy Square/TKTS for discounted, same-day theatre tickets (Broadway and 47th Street). Just look for the big TKTS sign, and get there early.

there are quite a few sites that you can search that will likely show you great hotels at the best prices available. check out the website BookMe and you will be able to compare prices on all the reputable travel sites in just a couple minutes. it s very convenient and will save you a bunch of time and money. Also, make sure you buy them online... otherwise they charge much higher fees for phone orders. good luck.

1) JFK airport2) Hilton hotel, Marriott hotel, Blue Fine hotel (they all nice but very expensive) can check their website3) it will be cool .. so no summer clothes but u can sure bring dresses for evening.. (have winter coat and sweaters, cap, gloves,)
