If you leave a high altitude place for a month, will you feel the effects of the altitude when you go back? -

I m leaving an altitude of 7200ft for Christmas, for about one month. The place I m going has an altitude of 87ft. Will I feel the altitude the first few days again when I come back in January? When I first arrived here for orientation, I felt nauseaous and had a fast heart beat followed by a headache the next two days. I was only here for orientation for three days. I came back up to start school and I felt horrible the next day(we arrived at night) and was nauseaous and weak and my breathing was off. I ve been in this altitude for about three months now.

Yeah, I m thinking you might, since it s for an entire month. When you re heading back, make sure you drink a lot of water to get very hydrated (NO diet drinks or caffeine), and if you even begin to get a headache, take a Tylenol or aspirin to stop it before it really gets going. Altitude sickness doesn t happen every time, so I can t tell you yes, for sure , so don t get too bummed. You may be just fine. Good luck!

You probably won t feel it, I live in Denver and went to sea level for 2 months and when I came back I was ok, but apparently you are prone to altitude sickness so when you get back here take a nap and drink lots of water, good luck.

I doubt you ll feel any difference when you get back. I ve been back to lower altitudes (Jersey) for long periods and felt nothing when I got home to Castle Rock.
