What do you think about the Miami Hurricanes? -

I think that their football players have been more involved in murder and rape crimes than any other university. Seriously, google it.

What stereotype Robert? I have lived in Miami my entire life and have dozens of friends who are UM alumni. All you have to do is google the news and what I am saying will be there. Perhaps you are biast and it s blinding your objectivity. Report Abuse

I m sure it s true -- but it s no longer accurate. If I remember correctly, no UM Football Player has been convicted of a crime since Randy Shannon became head coach. Report Abuse

What I m getting at is that it is perfectly accurate from a historical perspective. In fact, many of us students are proud of the historical facts of the situation. However, UM is no longer Thug U, nor is it any longer Convicts vs. Catholics when we play Notre Dame. Report Abuse

And thank you for your honesty, but I truly don t feel as though I m being blinded. I m simply presenting the facts: our team is no longer the team that is more involved in murder and rape crimes than any other university. Historically, it was. But, despite, the stereotype, they no longer are. Report Abuse

In what regard? I think we have an awesome team, and we ll probably be in the top 10 of the rankings next year -- hopefully heading for a national championship. I also think it s unfortunate that so many people on yahoo answers feel the need to perpetuate a stereotype that has not been accurate for years.
