What is the best time of year to go to Orlando, Florida ? -

I want to take my family to Disney world in Orlando next year. We were thinking of going in December/ January during the Winter break from school or Early June when school lets out for Summer. We don t particularly want to go when it is too hot and humid . I was wondering which is the better time to go because those are the only 2 times of year we can travel as a family because of school. Thanks for any info.

As far as crowds go, summer break and winter break are the WORST times to go (unless you go during the first week of January; if you re talking between Christmas and New Year s then it s absolute madness). As far as weather, June is extremely hot and humid, and it rains pretty much every day (but not usually for very long; around 30-60 minutes usually, although it can be quite a downpour). The winter weather is fairly mild, though not normally hot (mid-60 s or low 70 s during the day, 40 s at night). Rain is much more of an issue during the summer, the winter months are relatively dry.

Those are the worst times to visit Disney World because just like you that is the only time most families can get away. Over the winter break is especially busy because everyone wants to escape the cold and snow.By early June the temperatures are already getting hot, not like August or September but still very warm.It rains a lot more in the summer than it does in the winter. If I had to choose between dealing with large crowds and high temps I would pick the heat. If you stay on Disney property (the only way to really enjoy your stay) you can take a nice long siesta in the heat of the day and enjoy the parks early and late in the day. Save the mid day heat for lounging around the pool, resting your feet or a visit to the water park.

I agree with Indiana Jones but just a bit of input- I went the 27th of June until July 11th and I didn t like the weather. The first week we were there it rained everyday, it was really hot and it seemed like the sun was hiding! We went to Blizzard Beach - couldn t get in and Typhoon Lagoon was packed. However, we went to Universal on a day that it DID rain and we didn t wait in line for longer than 30 minutes. so It has it s pros and con s. Personally, I would go April/May if you could pull your kids out of school, it s my favourite time to go. Also, the weather on spring break is alright except it s really busy as well.

Early June would be best because not all of the kids in the US are off of school yet. Do not go during the Winter or End of Summer. The absolute best time is to go during Early November and September.

both times have their ups and downs. dec/jan-busiest time of the entire year but nice weatherjune- still crowded but not too bad but not the greatest weatherbetween dec 21st and jan 1st is the busiest time of the entire year. many days during this time period especially xmas day and new years eve the parks fill to capacity by noon at the latests so you will need to get to the parks well before they open to ensure that you get in. and if you are going on xmas or new years eve you should be warned that its gonna be a LONG day. expect EXTREMELY long lines and expect to feel like sardines. just walking from ride to ride feels like one long line. cast members even direct traffic using light wands and say stay to your right, stay to your right. and a nice thing that disney does on new years eve is hand out FREE hats and noisemakers but the only flaw they have is they hand them out starting at noon so you have to listen to noisemakers for 12+ HOURS!the weather druing that time is pretty nice. the average high is about 72 but temps can be pretty unpredictable and it may be in the low 60 s or it may be in the low 80 s. you ll want to take a variety of clothes from shorts to capris to jeans and t-shirts. and you ll definitely want a light jacket for early mornings and late at night cuz the average low is 51. dec/jan is a pretty dry month so you shouldn t be worried about rain. most days its nothing but blue skies. even though its not a rainy season and it is a bit cooler there is still plenty of humidity to go around. last dec/jan when i was there the weather channel said it was 80% humindity. the begining of june is going to be HOT, HUMID, AND RAINY. the average high is 91 and the average low only gets down to 73. and it rains nearly every afternoon usually between 3pm-6pm. the showers and storms generally only last between 30-60 minutes but they pack quite a punch. you ll want to bring or buy rain ponchos (at walmart they are about $4 or if you buy them from the parks its about $8). and make sure you have 2 pairs of sneakers so when one pair gets wet you can leave them to dry and have another pair to wear. you ll want to wear shorts and t-shirts and bring a light jacket if you get cold in air conditioned buildings.and it will be pretty crowded during this time of the year as well. certainly not as crowded as xmas break but still crowded. most schools around the country get out late may/early june so there will be a lot of other families there during that time as well.
