New in USA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!? -

I came to USA this year from Pakistan and went to high school as a freshman.my teachers were amazed of the English i spoke and i was placed in an honors English course. They said that it was unusual for me to speak good english because my official languaga in Pakistan was Urdu.I was given 4 honor courses leaving health/P.E ,keyboarding and spanish.now i have All A s and 4 of them being A+ in Honors World History Health/P.e,Spanish and Honors Earth Science.Do colleges consider this as a good accomplishment and does this count in my personal abilities?

I moved to the US in 2001 with my Canadian educated 14 year old daughter. She went through the US education system like a buzzsaw. She will turn 23 next year, the same time she finished grad school. SHe is working this semester as a researcher for the US government. She has four confirmed offers now for fully funded PhDs. SHe did stuff in grade 8 in Canadian public school that she did again here in grade 12. My point is that if you have a good foreign education, you can just tear through the US system. The US system seems to have the lowest expectations of the advanced countries.

Yes, that is a very good accomplishment for anyone. Now you just have to decide what you want to do, and keep working hard. :)Hope you are having a good time here! Best wishes!~loveisyou18
