How much is cab fare in NY? -

I m flying in to either Newark airport or La Guardia just before Christmas and I have to get to West Point. Are both cab fares about the same and about how much would they be?

West Point is much too far to take a cab, which would cost well over $200 if they d even agree to go that far away. From LGA, take the Airport Service bus to Grand Central Terminal for about $12, take a Hudson Line commuter train to Peekskill for about $15, and take a taxi from there for about $25 plus tip. From Newark, take the Olympia airport bus for $15 to either the Port Authority bus terminal where you can get a Short Line bus to West Point (last bus most days at 2:45 PM, so no good if you arrive after noon), or to Grand Central where you can get the train. If you really really want, there s a limo company in West Point which you can call to see how much they ll charge to come and get you.

I couldn t tell you the exact or fairly accurate fares, but I can tell you that it would be a lot cheaper to call ahead for a car or airport shuttle service to pick you up at the airport and drive you to your destination. That s because it s a long haul from either of those airports to west point, and cab fares get VERY expensive if you go a long way - and sometimes depending on the distance, the cab driver can choose to decline to give you a ride, or can set their own price. So if I were you I would call supershuttle, or one of the local airport limo services and ask them what they would charge, and go with one of them. Here s a list of phone numbers: http://www.citidex.com/20.htm#C4492

We flew into La Guardia and the rate isnt great. if i remember correctly it is like a dollar a mile? just tryin to remember sorry.

45 bucks
