Safe places on the south side of chicago? -

what street on the south side should i not move in? i was looking at a place by 43rd street is safe down there? thanks

there aint none

Depends 43rd and what? Hyde park is very nice. there are other places to live on the South Side, but if you are not from around here, You could easily stray into a strange neighborhood by crossing the wrong tracks..lol. Anyway Like I always tell people, It s not as bad as people say. I have lived here all my life...Born and raised on the south side. I do suggest however to have a car living on the South Side because if you have to take public transportation anywhere...you will probably have to take a lovely ride through the ghetto to reach your destination. Actually bridgeport is really coming up. You should check that out..and your pretty close to downtown. Good luck :)

well, down there by 43rd there isn t anything. Beverley is the only really safe part of the south side, and by Midway, other than that there s nothing that I know of except I m pretty sure most of the westernmost parts of the south side are acceptable. here s a good map to see excactly where is safe:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:ChicagHope this helped!

Basically all of the southside is pretty bad, but if you go over East Hyde Park is really nice....diverse and friendly. I lived on the Southside for about 22 years and it has changed for the worse, from robberies to extreme gang activity. Id say if you have to stay on the southside....around 79th Kedzie to 87th Cicero is your best bet.

some of the best parts of the city are on the south side like Kenwood and Hyde park. there are plenty on the northside though that I would i avoid as I have found out myself

Bronzeville,Hyde Park and some parts of South Shore are ok.

none in fact Chicago as a whole is GARBAGE!!!
