Remember this rule about hotels / motels. If they re nice they aren t cheap, and if they re cheap, they aren t nice. Accommodations in the middle of the action will be popular and usually in demand, so there is no reason to offer a discount. The rent is whatever the traffic will bare. One problem you may have is that most hotels require the renter to be at least 21 (unchaperoned teens tend to make noise, and damage the rooms). Almost all will also require a credit card.
We see this every day in this forum: Everyone who wants to visit here is looking for cheap/affordable and safe . However, such a place just doesnt exist; the two terms are mutually exclusive. It s all about supply and demand: If it s in SoCal, then it s not going to be cheap to begin with. If it s a safe area, then it s more expensive. And what sort of action are you looking for?Since LA is so spread out, there is no single place that is close to EVERYTHING. Most people who come here tend to stay in Hollywood, Santa Monica, or Anaheim. In Hollywood, I recommend the Orchid Suites, Hollywood Celebrity Hotel, or Holiday Inn Walk of Fame, all near Hollywood and Highland. Another one is the Best Western Sunset Plaza. In Santa Monica, the Holiday Inn Santa Monica is close to the pier and reasonably priced. In Anaheim, I recommend the Howard Johnson (HoJo) Anaheim, and the Candy Cane Inn. There is also a nice place in Burbank called the Best Western Media Center, very close to Warner, NBC, and Universal Studios.
STAY hotel is in downtown. Its a really neat mix of a hostel and a hotel. This is really cheap and clean, I was really surprise. Google STAY in LA and see the pictures by yourself, I was really surprise how cheap it wasfor the quality. It is on main street in downtown, walking distance from most places in downtown, great clubs around the corner. Few blocks away is a really sketchy, but you ll have to get use to it.Its definitely a little better than what you will pay for.STAY HOTEL IN LOS ANGELES
Super cheap usually means grungy nasty hotels.Plus, the action is within a 50 mile radius so you kind of have to be specific as to where. Also, it s December. The hotels are going to be REALLY EXPENSIVE because many people want to come to LA at this time of the year. And, you have to be 18+ anyway.
there are quite a few sites that you can search that will likely show you great hotels at the best prices available. check out the website BookMe and you will be able to compare prices on all the reputable travel sites in just a couple minutes. it s very convenient and will save you a bunch of time and money. Also, make sure you buy them online... otherwise they charge much higher fees for phone orders. good luck.
