The South Rim or West Rim? -

I am planning to go to Las Vegas and would like to see the Grand Canyon on a Bus Tour. This will be my first time to the Grand Canyon. I would like to get advices from which side of the Grand Canyon I should visit (South, West, or North). I am interested in scenery and sightseeing. And also what company should I book with? I researched on the internet and there were so many companies that offer the tours.Anybody has been on tours to the Grand Canyon. Your comments will be very helpful because I am looking forward to having a great trip so I d like to spend my time and money wisely. Thank you so much.

The north rim and south rim are in the national park. The national park has been set up around the very best the Grand Canyon has to offer so as to protect it. Of the two, in a brief tour, the south rim offers the very best views of the canyon. The west rim is outside the national park and is therefore by definition not the best place to see the canyon from. However, it has the sky-walk as the previous poster said. Only you can know if seeing the very best of the canyon in the national park or experiencing a totally unique attraction is the west rim is most important for you.

I have heard that the south rim is the one that people go to see much more than the north rim. The Skywalk out over the canyon would be a cool thing to experience. It would have to be fun looking down from that vantage point. It is probably 10 times the experience you could get anywhere else. It s on the south rim:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grand_Canyon_Skywalkhttp://www.grandcanyonskywalk.com/Next, you have got to get on a raft and take a slow ride down the canyon. A raft will give you the views of a lifetime. So spend your money wisely and ride a raft down the canyon and look up around you at all the beauty up close. Just get online and search Yahoo for rafting tour Grand Canyon. Good luck.

Since there is no such actual place as the West Rim of the Grand Canyon then you are left with either the S.Rim or the N.RimSince the N.Rim s roads and facilities are closed for the season that leaves you with just the S.Rim to play withFYI Current S.Rim [86023 } temps are H-37F L-0F Those are colder than the norms for this time of year But 7000 in a Ponderosa Pine forest will always be cold in winterPersonally I would skip the bus tour I mean it s 4.5 hours from LAS to GCNP and instead book a tour on a carrier like Scenic Airlines-Airline Code YR-You also may want to consider just renting a car and drivingg it
