Does JFK Airport check passports? -

I am an American citizen and my passport is expired and I need to get to NY by this weekend. Is there any chance that I can fly to NY without a passport? (I will fly from San Jose Airport)I heard JFK Airport s security is pretty tight...

I think all airports are the same. Before boarding a plane, they check your plane tickets/ itinerary and your driver s license (any ID will do). When you get off the plane, you just walk out of the airport. There is no security checkpoint or anything. Only international flights are different.

Do you have a photo ID - assuming that San Jose is the one in CA - no problem if you have a drivers lic or other govt issue photo id. that is current.

you are only required to have government issued identification for domestic flights. passports are only required for international travel.

Yea they do but give them the citizen ship card and cover the expiration date with the citizenship card
