Is New York the most overrated city in the world? -

I ve never been there, so I m not saying I dislike the city, but the city can t really be as great as everyone is lead to believe, right? Tall buildings...sure, but people make it out to be a magical place where all your dreams can come true, and if you move there, you would never think about living anywhere else. Your thoughts?

New York is in fact - Great !(if you have money)Paris is the one that s overrated(smells like urine)San Francisco is my Favorite city Mexico City can be loads of fun.

I m not sure about the move there and never want to live anywhere else part. I live in Dallas and don t care to move to NYC, (partly because of the weather) but NYC is an extremely exciting, interesting place to visit. You can t possibly experience it all in one trip, or two trips, or even the 5 trips I ve made to the city. You feel the heartbeat of the city as soon as you step off the plane.Go and see for yourself. I don t think you ll be disappointed. It really lives up to its reputation.

When you are the largest and most densely populated city in the country, yet keep the population safe to the point that the suburbs are more dangerous (IE Newark) I d say it deserves it s hype. The, for it s size, has a carbon footprint that rivals middle american towns. We have everything we want when we want it. Hungry at 2:30AM? Not a problem, anything you could want is within grasp.

nyc is truly the best city ever and ive been to different cities all over da U.S and many other countries. There sumthing that u feel in ny that u you cant get anywhere else L.A, Atlanta,San Francisco it doesnt matter where,ny is the concrete jungle where dreams are made of.Theres absolutely nothing u cant do in ny!

@ ManJust because you lived here for 4 years, that hardly makes you a legitimate source on the city. You were just another transplant here. Dreams only come true if you go out there and get them. You have to hustle in NYC. Nothing comes knocking at your door. But there are opportunities here. Its a lot more than just tall buildings, and history. Its a culture, a community, a sense of belonging. THIS IS THE NYC WE GREW UP IN.. Something you will never understand. See trailer clip below...http://downtowncalling.com/site/trailer/

new york is a great place, but so expensive, its not the type of place to make acting or modeling dreams come true, but with a steady income and compromises, it can be good.

NYC is the 13th most populated city in the world with a number of 8.3 million people. But it s the most populated in the U.S

It s not just the tall buildings that make New York what it is...It s the atmosphere and vibe that you can t get anywhere else. The feeling of excitement you get there can only be felt by the individual and can t be explained in words. There is so much to do and see that you probably won t be able to experience it all in one lifetime. Each time I go to the city I see thousands of excited tourists having their dream of visiting New York fulfilled. The joy in their eyes is clear and you can tell they re excited to be here.I m so grateful for living by one of the greatest cities in the world. It s not overrated at all.

People who talk about New York have never been to San Francisco. San Francisco has higher paying jobs, more beautiful city, its much much cleaner, and way more tourist attractions and nearby places to go to. San Francisco holds the award for best tourist city according to Conde Nast Traveler. New York is crap, I should know, I lived there for 4 years. I m originally from Florida so I view them both as an outsider coming in, and NY is depressing compared to San Francisco. There s nothing really unique about New York that makes it more fun than any other city out there. New York just has a lot of history, but aside from that, its not unique. I ve been to Tokyo and Bangkok and once you ve seen one big city you ve seen them all. New York is definitely overrated. For the 13th year in a row, the readers of a major travel magazine (Conde Nast Traveler magazine) have voted San Francisco as the best city to visit in the United States. http://www1.voanews.com/english/news/a-1
