Driving from Vancouver BC to Denver Colorado? -

We are going to drive from Vancouver to Denver around the end of December... I heard the weather condition could be really bad along the way...So I m wondering is it do-able? What should we prepare for beforehand to avoid delays in our trip? Thank you in advance!

Yea, its definitely do-able, but you just have to have a little extra cash on hand in case you need to stop along the way for an extra night at a hotel due to snow. Dont drive the mountains at night, especially if its snowing at all. thats about all you can do- expect the worst but plan on having a great trip because you may not have any delays at all- its really very different. Also- the mountains are plowed quickly- so they may have 3 feet on the sides of the road, but nothing on the road- just watch for black ice at all times.

Personally, I would just fly if you have to go in December.

Should be doable. Depends on which way you want to drive. You ll need to cross a few passes regardless which way you go. Avoid Yellowstone if you planned on swinging threw. They close down the roads sometime in December. You might be able to get in through the side. However, you ll need to combat the Tetons. Cascades in Washington and Oragon and the Sierras if you plan on comming through the side VIA California. And of course the Rockies. I travel up north quite often during the winter. I find I-80 closes more often then I-70. If i-70 closes down, you ll have more options to choose from over i-80. There isn t much in Wyoming. That and I-80 is the most boring road in America. -Get good winter tires-Pack a couple of sleeping bags or blankets-tow Rope-Snacks-Shovel-Jumper cablesYou should be fine, but the biggest mistake people make is not preparing yourself properly. You should be ready incase you get stranded someplace in the mountains over night. The chances of them happening are slim, but it does happen and people do die from it. So just pack some warm stuff.

well i live in LA area and i never really have any problems about what i wear, i actually don t think about it =/ i just wear whatever, although i never wear plain teeshirts they always have a design or graphic or somthin so idk if that efffects it
