So I just recently discovered that not every state has its own state flower. There are a few that share a flower with another state such as Louisiana and Mississippi (Magnolia), Kentucky and Nebraska (Goldenrod) and North Carolina and Virginia (American Dogwood).Does anyone know why this is? I have tried searching but haven t found anything helpful. It seems strange to me that all states wouldn t have their own flower. Also if anyone knows why we have state flowers in the first place I would be interested to know that as well. I know every state has a flower, tree, bird, etc but why did we decide we each needed one of those anyways? Thanks in advance!
I suppose we have to say that nature has no boundaries. You ll laugh when you see this state list of stuff... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_StatState toys? Sheesh.
because they both liked the same flower and they didnt want to start a war over it so they just decided to share!
