I have a question please? -

If I want to sleep in a street or park in Washington Heights, will I be caught from the police. And I m 15 btw.

Yes, the police might catch you. But far worse, perhaps someone else will find you - someone who wants to do you harm. I think this is a terrible idea! If you need to find somewhere safe to stay, call 311 and ask how to get to a youth shelter. Good luck.

Well, sadly, there are quite a few homeless people who sleep on the streets of New York City, so, for all intents and purposes, you could be like one of them and sleep in a corner or a doorway somewhere and probably not be found by the cops. One good suggestion is to go into an apartment building s entrance and ring a bunch of buzzers to get someone to buzz you into the building. Then you go ALL the way up to the very top of the building s stairwells and you ll find a little landing up there where the door to the roof is, and if you re very, very quiet, you can catch a few hours sleep up there without anyone knowing. It ll be freezing cold, but at least you re off the street where you could get arrested or mugged.Good luck!

Police usually do surveillance or drive by s at night for suspicious activity or to enforce park curfews. The streets are more of a hassle especially if its near a business that would be considered loitering and the police may ask you to leave. Im not really sure why you would want to sleep in a park or on the street but the best thing to do would be to find a shelter, a motel, or a good friend to stay with if possible, the streets are not safe and anything could happen to you.
