How can I be a bus driver in New York City? -

Assuming you mean driving an MTA bus in NYC, it s a civil service job, you take a competitive qualifying exam. You can get that far without any specific experience or even a commercial drivers license (though you need a clean driving record and a valid basic operator s license). The bad news is that the next set of exams, which were scheduled for January, have been postponed. I guess the MTA s current budget problems are the reason for that:http://www.mta.info/nyct/hr/compete.htmMany other questions about the hiring process after the test can be answered here:http://www.nyctransitforums.com/forums/s

If you mean for the MTA, you have to take a test, and outperform as many people as you can. You get a score, which puts you in a percentile, and when your number is called, you get an interview. Provided you aren t a retard, you should easily be able to get a 90% or better, and further provided again you aren t retarded, if you make it to the interview phase, your chances on getting the job is almost definite. As far as licenses are concerned, you would need to get a Bus operators license, which you would do at the DMV.

Aim higher.Look fir the MTA Train Operator exam. It is open competitive which means that thaey don t expect you to know anything, just to be able to read and process text, charts, graphs, schematics, schedules, etc. They always give you the answe then ask the question.Once accepted you would enter a six month training program. It is not easy, but you don t want weaklings operating trains. the job can be quite rewarding. Fun, too..

lol. Better Question: Why??? Jk, you have to get a special liscence, so first call your local DMV they should be able to point yoiu in the right direction.

Get a CDL and apply.
