Commute to Times Square from LaGuardia in New York? -

I am going to times square for new years eve and Ive been trying to find a decent hotel for a good price in Midtown but everything is either sold out or bad hotel. Can anyone either recommend a hotel in Midtown or let me know if it s a good idea to find a nice cheap hotel closer to the airport or a surrounding suburb? I m from Georgia and first timer to NY so I have no idea how far everything is from everything!

You have lots of options. Since LaGuardia is in Queens, you ll have to take a subway (or two) to get to Times Square. But, that is the beauty of it. You can get around by subway all over NYC. I d stay where you can afford it (even across the George Washington Bridge in Ft Lee, NJ). Good luck and watch out for the pickpockets.

The problem is most hotels in Midtown are booked for New Years. Therefore, you will have to settle with booking a hotel room in Queens or near LGA.
