The Win Percent for the casinos are published every month. For the previous 12 months for quarter machines they are:Downtown Las Vegas 5.40%Laughlin 5.28%Las Vegas Strip 8.04%-------------------------------So technically Laughlin is slightly better than Downtown Las Vegas. [The Nevada Gaming Comission lumps Stratosphere in with the other downtown casinos even though it is closer to the strip]=====================Penny and Nickel machines have a much higher hold. So if you are asking the question, I presume you would simply stay away from those machines. Dollar machines do not have a significantly lower house edge than quarter machines.=====================For multi-denomination machines they are all about the sameLaughlin 6.07%Las Vegas Strip 5.98%Downtown Las Vegas 6.06%=====================In downtown LV, the slot only clubs like Bayou and Mermaids have a higher hold than the full service casinos.
Atlantic CitySimple reason is in Nevada, the state publishes winning percentages by region (ie. Downtown, Strip, etc.)In New Jersey, the state publishes winning percentages by casino and denomination. So you can see which casino pays the best on pennies, which casino pays the best on nickels, etc. So the casinos are more competitive since they don t want to be seen as tight.
I thought the slots in downtown Vegas were pretty loose.
