Virginia Beach/ Norfolk Just one hour north of there is a very historical areaYorktown, Williamsburg, Jamestown (home of Pocahontas)http://www.mapquest.com/maps?1c=Norfolk+��Williamsburg is an all day or all week thing. Colonial city w/ people dressed and doing things of that time. Jamestown is far less expensive but interesting. The websites are easily accessable. The Chesapeake Bay bridge-tunnel by Virginia Beach is fun to drive across. Nothing at all to do on the other side, so just come back. We stopped to view the water there, and some teens came running at us with large pieces of lumber, so we left LOL
