We went on two different lost tours last summer. We asked which tours went where and got the details from the agent we spoke to. The tours we took were 5 and 10 hours long. The 5 hour tour goes to private property locations where lost is filmed on the windward side of Oahu. The tour is off road and that s where they film a lot of the jungle locations. Then we went on the 10 hour tour which goes all the way around Oahu, stopping at dozens of filming locations. We thought it would be a long tour, but we had such a great time that the time flew by. We got to see just about every filming location between the two tours (there s no overlap in locations).Unfortunately, ABC wasn t filming when we were there, but we spoke with another couple who said they took the tour last March and got to watch filming. I would definitely recommend these tours! You can do it on your own, but there s no way you ll find all those locations. And our guide was top notch. We had a great time debating lost too. Wen we returned to Ontario, our friends could not believe the photos we took standing in the spots where so many famous scenes were made! We booked both tours online at bigkahunahawaii.com . Just search for LOST and all the lost tours will pop up. I think booking ahead would be a good idea. The tour group sizes are limited to 6 people and our guide said that the tours sell out weeks in advance.
make sure you take a lot of photos...i wished i had taken more...a tour is def the way to go...just don t get one thats really long if you have kids or if you get tired easily, they can drain your energy. you can get tours on ATV s, horseback, helicopter, bus, submarine, there are a lot of options...on the website below you can get the details about each and compare them.
