Moving to California from Toronto,Canada, do they have to do the complete test for Cali driver license? -

If someone has a G class driver license from Canada and moving to California as a permanent resident, what test do they have to pass so they get a new Calif driver license? driving test and writing test or just writing test? thanks you Cathy
