Im driving to stay at the millinium hotel in New York from Ohio. Is it better for me to park outside the city? -

It is just me and my wife. We have a little luggage to bring as we are staying 4 days. Is the traffic that bad that I would not want to drive down to the hotel and valet park? Any help out there?

well if your not used to the driving/traffic I would say maybe you would not want to drive into the city...

My friend, not only its it better, but it is highly recommended that you park outside of the city and take the train into town. The is especially true now that the is a holiday gridlock alert in place until December 23rd.http://nativenewyorker10454.blogspot.comIn regards to where to park, well, since you coming from Ohio, you can park your car at one of the many garages in Jersey City or Hoboken, NJ and take PATH train (a commuter train line) into Manhattan.Below are links which show the location of parking garages near PATH train station in both cities.Grove Street Stationhttp://maps.google.com/maps?near=Grove+SExchange Place Stationhttp://maps.google.com/maps?near=ExchangPavonia/Newport Stationhttp://maps.google.com/maps?near=PavoniaHoboken Stationhttp://maps.google.com/maps?near=HobokenJournal SquareParking is available at the Journal Square Transportation Center on two decks through a privately owned parking facility, LAZ Parking. For additional information, please call (201) 216-6744.You can also try parking your car at the Secaucus Junction train station and take NJ Transit into Penn Station.I hope this infomration is very helpful.
